@HealingTalk
Well hello to you, and thanks for the check in.
To be honest, was Saturday morning was a high point for me. what made it happen was I decided to fix breakfast for my husband and I and request that he had to eat in the kitchen instead of taking his food to his room. It worked out well. We sat and ate and had a real conversation together,😊
@scarletPear1945
Amazing!
You were firm in setting a healthy rule, that breakfast is for sitting together to talk, not just ingesting food alone.
You were assertive, and it worked.
Being assertive, confronting issues upfront but without aggressiveness, is not easy at all.
It is a hugely valuable capability that you have.
Congratulations on that!
I am glad that you could have a real conversation as a result.
With the double satisfaction of having created this moment with your healthy behavior, and also enjoying the conversation in itself.
I wish you that you continue nourishing the relationship with your husband.
Genuine dialogue is a must for that.
All the best!
Marcelo.
Beautiful. @scarletPear1945

Hi, Marcelo,
1. How have you been feeling these days? Overly stressed, but happy that I got a job and started working yesterday. Today, I wasn’t so happy at work.
-
When was the last time you had your best mood?
(not necessarily super-happy, but your own high point) I guess it was yesterday. - What was it like? I got complimented at work. My first day went well. I remembered what everyone taught me. I was a little slow when we had a rush, but the people I work with are nice.
-
What made it happen? I was calm
and prepared for the day, and I tried to actively listen at work and not
expect perfection from myself.
- How can you make it happen again? I really don’t know if that’s possible again. Because today everyone—and I mean everyone, including the managers—went outside to get high and came back in to work. I don’t get high and didn’t enjoy working with a bunch of bumbling fools.
@purpleTree4652
Hello Tree!
Nice to see you again!
Thank you for checking in!
It's natural to feel stressed after working in a new job. As it becomes routine, stress will subside, I think.
I am glad that your first day went so well, and that the people at your workplace are so nice.
You are very, lucky about this last one. Many people work with bad bosses and coworkers, which makes their life miserable at work.
I do know a few...
So working in a place with nice people that appreciate you is a great base for your sanity and wellbeing.
You also had the personal satisfaction of being effective at your job from day one!
Regarding your colleagues' use of drugs, while it might be very disgusting, as long as it doesn't make them aggressive or annoying to you in any other way, and the workplace stays ok, you might forgive them for that weakness.
What's important is that your boss is not authoritarian and aggressive, and your colleagues are nice to you. This is a real blessing.
I hope things continue to go well at work and in your life.
All the best!
Marcelo.
I’m not doing very well right now. I’m still miserable with life. I got a job working as a trash technician at a hospital. I survived four days of it and my feet were very blistered from all the walking. Over the weekend they managed to heal and now I’m laying in bed after getting home from my fifth day and I’m depressed. I’ve got work, but I’m still alone. My left ankle is aching. And I’m back to questioning if there’s a reason I should even stay alive. I wish I had better news, but this is how I am right now.
@Server8462
Hi, Server,
You are not your job. You are obviously a very hard-working, dedicated, disciplined, worthy person for any employer to have. The right employer will see that and you'll get a job that is better for you.
I just started working at a fast-foot restaurant. It's hard and not me, but I have to keep it until I find something better.
Take care and I wish you the best. --tree
@Server8462
Hi Server!
The best news is that you came here to share!
Life is tough, but you carry on no matter what. Congratulations on that!
Also on your determination to continue hunting for a job. You finally got one!
Each of us has to give a purpose to our life, it has to be genuine, can't come from outside.
For now, it might be holding on and moving forward no matter what.
When you feel alone, and nobody is on sight to talk to, come here.
Join the group-chats. Post in the forums. Talk to a Listener.
I made a post on this, in this thread, a few posts above.
You can find it HERE
Thank you again, Server!
I look forward to seeing you again soon!
All the best!
Marcelo.
The "news" doesn't say anything about you or how hard you are trying. It has always been obvious that your struggles are real and that you work hard to find ways around them.
I am sorry that the new job is a struggle. What kinds of things are you doing to care for your feet? @Server8462
@HealingTalk
- How have you been feeling these days? I have been feeling pretty good these days, which is surprising.
-
When was the last time you had your best mood?
(not necessarily super-happy, but your own high point) Last summer, after I graduated and had a job secured - while waiting for the job to start, I watched a bunch of movies and went outside a lot.
- What was it like? It was very nice.
- What made it happen? Situational circumstances and things finally stacking in my favor.
- How can you make it happen again? Be flooded with the lows, like studying hard, but balancing it with super highs, like graduating - I'm not sure I want to go back to school though lol.
@SynSavory
Thank you for checking in!
Oh, yes!
The time immediately after graduation is such a happy time!
You can lay on your bed, watching the ceiling for hours... And think "I don't have any exams coming, no homework to present, nothing"
You are right that those wonderful times are a one-in -a-lifetime event. Can't be repeated.
It's again a rollercoaster after that.
Thank you again for coming here!
All the best!
Marcelo.
