Let's reflect on the past weekend and what it told us about our emotional health.

And what we expect for this week.

Today's check-in questions are:

  • How was your weekend, overall?
  • How have you been feeling these days?
  • Which were your best times this weekend?
  • Which were not-so-good times?
  • What do you wish to achieve this week?

All questions are optional. You can add any comments you wish, as they come to your mind.

I look forward to your answers!

  • How was your weekend, overall?

Weekend was okay I guess. Honestly spent a good chunk of it asleep. Didn't sleep well last night though (Sunday).

  • How have you been feeling these days?

Honestly? Awful. Feels like I'm scraping by, and even then that's a stretch. Feeling really emotionally wrung out.

  • Which were your best times this weekend?

Getting to spend some time with a friend last night, and watching Hell's Kitchen with my housemates.

  • Which were not-so-good times?

Having to play relationship therapist for my housemates... *sigh*

  • What do you wish to achieve this week?

Making the most of my appointment with vocational rehabilitation and getting the ball rolling to see what my options are for school, work, etc.

Dear Storm:

Thank you for checking in!

I am glad that your weekend went well.

Extra sleep on weekends is ok. Weekends are for resting, after all.

I am sorry you didn't have good sleep night last night. I hope it doesn't happen every night. but only now and then.

How unfortunate that you have been feeling so bad recently! I hope that you feel better soon.

Spending time with friends like last night, and having fun, like with your housemates, might help you feel better.

Helping your housemates sort out their relationships might make you feel a very supportive member of the group, and thus more bonded to them.

I hope you have a fruitful time analyzing the options you have for your future career.

Studying and working on something you like is crucial for a satisfying life.

So all time and effort spent choosing those, is a very very good investment for your future.

Thank you again for coming here!

I wish you all the best!

Marcelo.

Today marks 20 years since my brother has passed away. I've been off and on with my emotions. Grief has been the hardest thing for me to deal with. I remember this day vividly to this day. My mom got the call late at night and I can still hear the shrieking.

The other part that hurts is I know part of my mom died when this happened. That was her first born child. As a parent now, I couldn't imagine having to bury one of my kids, even if they are an adult at the time.

Since my brothers passing, my mother and father have both died. Leaving me as the last of my immediate family. The only regrets I have are not being able to introduce my mom and brother to my wife and kids.

Hello!

Thank you for checking in!

You are right that grief lasts for so long...

The pain might become bearable, but it never goes away.

The memories stay vivid like it happened yesterday.

I am sorry you are going through all this.

You are also right that the death of a son must be extremely painfuñ, hurting, even destructive for a mother.

Words can't describe such an impact on her life.

I hope that you can make peace with yourself and let your regrets go. We are all human and fallible after all.

I wish you that you find some moments of peace during these sad times.

All the best.

Marcelo.

I feel like a burden.

there were no such thing as best times, probably sleep? when i wasn't feeling anything.

not so good ones: when i was talking to my bf about my insecurities. He was very supportive tho but I just felt like an attention seeker. I hate giving attention to my problems. cried about if for like hours till my eyes were super red and they also started to burn I couldn't find any distractions felt like no one could ever understand the emotional pain i was going through.

achieve this week: just want to get my internship work and course work done. Maybe if I could feel happy or wanted for once?
