Here is a safe place to talk about problems you're facing with depression and to spill what's happening for you.

I suppose I've had some thoughts that have been bugging me.

Sometimes life feels like a burden. It feels over whelming. There are so many things expected of us. That society expects of us. Do this, learn that, learn this in college, get X amazing job, have X amount of kids, slave away for years and then retire. And in some cases, people look down on you and belittle you because you're not there yet.

I'm not even 22 yet and because of this, I feel behind. I only go to college because my parents expect me to go. To set an example for my sister. Other than that, I hate being there. There's nothing stimulating about it. There's no career I'm interested in or care about, so I just want something that'll pay bills and have decent benefits.

I do some things on my own, but I have no idea what I'm going to do when I go into the real world. Hell for all I know I'll be living under a freaking bridge in the middle of nowhere. Commuting from my parents house has pretty much deprived me of any "college independence".

Meh.

This is the second complete mental break down in less than 24 hours. Damn what a way to end the year. I guess it pretty much sums up 2016 for me. Im so scared because today it was too much and I took a ruler with a sharp edge and held it against my thumb because if I could just concentrate on the physical pain the pain in my chest didnt hurt as much when my thumb hurt. I dont want to do this but it makes it hurt less. I never used to understand why people hurt themselves until now. I dont know what to do because I want it to stop. I couldnt breath and I just want them to know what they did to me. I want them to realize how much everything hurts and how hard it is to carry on and I want a break. I want to not hurt and I want to be able to tell people but its so hard. I just want it to stop. Sometimes I wont eat for hours and hours because the dizziness and the headaches distract from the pain and I can blame it on not eating and ignore what it really is. Im such a disappointment to everyone in my life and Im so selfish for even feeling this way. I just want help but Im so scared.

@goodTree7663

i know how you feel. I feel selfish and feel like if I try to talk to anyone they will think I'm just trying to get attention when that's not the case at all.

@Purpledogs exactly! It's like everyone expects you to be fine or whatever and when things go wrong and you try and talk to people it's your fault for burdening them with it. It's like you're just suppose to pretend all your problems don't exist so people don't think you're being a drama queen or something. I'm glad someone gets it 😄 thanks for commenting, I really appreciate it.

Help! I have extreme phone anxiety, how can I get over this?! I really need to call my dr and therapist but I can't even make the phonecall! I'm becoming more and more suicidal but the only support available seems to be over a phone. I have talked to my friends about how I feel, but there's only so much they can do. I need professional help but I can't get it.

I don't know what to do :(

@gentleLime404 Speaking over the phone can be difficult and cause extreme anxiety but it also can be necessary in life. Firstly is there anyway you could go to the doctor's office or email your therapist? If not then there are several things you can do that may help your anxiety. One thing you can do is prepare before you conversation, think about what you are going to say and maybe write down a plan so it can go as smoothly as possible. Also visualize yourself making the phone call and the positive outcomes of it - you can recieve the help you need. Lastly, reward yourself after you make the phone call. It is very challenging and you should feel proud if you manage to make the call. I hope it works out for you and sorry that I don't have much advice for you heart

I'm so tired of my step dad bullying me and mentally abusing me. And my mom does nothing about it she even knows and doesn't like how he treats me but will sit there and pick him over her own kids literally telling me and my sister "don't let the door hit your ass on the way out". I just don't know what to do anymore.

My parents don't know that I have anxiety or depression issues. I've tried to get someone to listen that I'm hurting, but no one understands or cares. My parents just find me annoying. If I talk I'm ignored or they run away. I know that I've become a loner and have found peace somewhat in being that when it at first wasn't my choice. But now I'm in need of someone to talk to, and I have no one. I never cry, but now it's become a routine every day when I'm alone. I'm tired of crying. I just need to talk...
