Loss of a parent

I lost my dad at a very young age, 20+ years ago and I still haven't got over it at all. I can hardly remember him. Just a few memories. This is when my depression started. I didn't just loose my dad, I lost all his side of the family aswel. After he passed, they stopped bothering. I went to school with some cousins and they would tell me they weren't allowed to talk or play with me any more. I hate them so much and I can't seem to forget about it all and just move on with my life. There's so much other stuff that has happened in my life that has just added to my depression aswel. I'm angry all the time, I just want to cry most of the time aswel. I'm in a long term relationship with a child, I'm so scared of my partner leaving me and my child growing up to hate me. I've tried antidepressants and they just don't work for me, I get really nauseous and my appetite goes. I don't know what to do any more

Hi @purpleCoconut2989 how are you now?

Losing a parent is never easy, let alone in a very young age... May he rest in peace and comfort 🌹

I believe you're a great partner and father ♡ How has the fear of losing your partner and kid's love affect your behavior toward them?

Has your mother or anyone ever told you that you reminded them of him? If yes in what way?

Losing a parent is hard, no matter what the age, why the family stopped talking to you, maybe something you will never find out. But the fact that anti depressants did not work is common, you need to try different ones, I have been on many, before I found the right ones, the fear, of your partner leaving, is down to what happened to you as a child. Why not drop me a line for a chat?
