Weekly Prompt #7: How have you been feeling lately?
Hello everyone, I hope you are all being easy on yourself this week.
Last week we discussed What small moments brought a glimmer of light today? Thank you to all who participated and shared their thoughts for discussion. I enjoyed them. I hope you all did too. If you didn't share yours, please share them here and I look forward to reading and discussing them with you.
This week's prompt: How have you been feeling lately?
Today, I want us to get back to basics and share how you have been feeling lately? You know in all going every day, it is so harder to focus on your emotions and feelings but today I want us to take a moment and re-focus on how things are happening and how are we feeling about it?
Let's get started and share your thoughts with us.
I have like I have no purpose in life. i am 30 y/o. I have friends, I have a job, no relationship. I don’t know what is missing in my life and I feel envy when I walk and see people laugh and smile. I wish I was them.
@Toaster2k20 It sounds like you've been feeling unfulfilled and envious when seeing others happy. Your feelings are understandable - we all want purpose and meaning. Know that you have so much value as a person, regardless of relationship status or what brings a smile. What matters most to you in life that you feel is missing?
@ASilentObserver
Lately I have been struggling a lot... My bpd has sky rocketed and I have been embarrassed by my actions. I don't even speak up or share them anymore because I am just so embarrassed by my mind and how I am feeling. My boyfriend is currently on vacation across the world for a month and it is really hard because he is my favourite person. I can't stop crying and feeling like he is slowly losing feelings for me since we do not talk as much (12 hour time difference). Plus my Opa (grandfather) is in the hospital due to a broken hip and he isn't doing the best. Plus school starts up soon and I have had little to no motivation to do anything, barely even watch tv. I am just tired all the time, but I can't sleep. It is a never ending cycle. I think I am getting better, but it always comes back to this feeling every night. I get a decent feeling that my illnesses have gone away, but then I remember it won't because there is no cure.
@eyedress68 Thank you for sharing so openly. It sounds like you're experiencing a lot of difficult emotions and uncertainty. You care deeply for your boyfriend and grandfather. Feeling tired yet unable to sleep must make an already tough situation even harder. You don't have to face this alone. You have all of us here with you. <3
What kinds of things have helped you cope or feel a little better on hard days in the past, even if just for a short time?
Hi everyone. Little better but thanks to you all in 7 cups tea and staff made me feel welcome and supported even down and lift me up.
Thanks I want to get to know you all and maybe chat later.
I am just a click away.Xx
@purpleSea7109 Thank you for sharing about feeling supported by the community here. It sounds like connecting with others who care made a positive difference. Just knowing help is always here can help lift us up inside. I'm glad you felt welcome among friends supporting each other through life's ups and downs. Thank you for being here with us <3
I've been in a loop for the past weeks.. I've been increasingly sadder and sadder because of overthinking and loneliness. I have no one by my side. No close friends, no lover, not even friends that'll listen to me. I don't want to outright say I'm depressed because I understand it is a serious mental illness. I can't help notice my extreme moodswings and general insomnia. I've had suicidal thoughts more than I would like to admit, and just 5 minutes ago I was close to self-harm. I'm happy during the day, sometimes. But other days I cannot focus on the things I like, and I just go in bed and cry. I think about everything I've done, everything I've messed up or everyone I lost because of how weird and stupid I can be at moments. I'm sorry for everything. I just need someone I could listen to. Or maybe even somone that'll listen to me but sometimes I feel like I'm asking for too much...
@ASiletObserver
@ASilentObserver Tired and frustrated, but I will keep trying.
I was laid off last year, and until now, I'm still having difficulty finding a job. I've been self-marketing my illustration work online, but I haven't found clients willing to purchase my services or artwork. I've run out of money for daily expenses, food, and the internet. I have a lot of debts, and it's challenging to find part-time or casual work here without additional conditions. Basically, they want me to work overtime for minimal pay on a yearly contract.
@sheiralea I am sorry to hear that <3 I understand this is a difficult situation and you must be feeling frustrated after being laid off and struggling to find stable work. It sounds like you've been trying various self-marketing strategies but haven't found clients yet who are willing to purchase your illustration services. What kinds of illustrations do you enjoy creating?
Maintaining hope in challenging times isn't easy, but your determination to keep trying is admirable. You aren't alone in facing financial difficulties or employment uncertainties. For now, focusing on small acts that bring you comfort or self-care each day may help provide some relief during this stressful period. We are all here with you to listen to and to support as well. <3 Sending hugs, if okay
@ASilentObserver hi, thankyou ! the moment i type this, i already have job but i am facing hard time here to connect with people, trying to fit in and understood since i am introvert over here.
@ASilentObserver I'm scared. I'm in a safe place being looked after really well. But got news a few days ago that two of the others I was rescued with have been found 😞 they are in heaven now 😞 I'm actually really scared
@Tinywhisper11 I'm so sorry to hear about the sadness you're feeling. It must be really hard to receive that news while also feeling safe where you are. You mentioned you feel scared - is there anything else you're experiencing inside? We are all here with you to support.
@ASilentObserver I was born into a christian cult. Children were either sold or kept for slaves. Was a slave for 18 years. They made me disabled broke my spine. But half my fingers off. Being a sex slave is not nice. But coming out of it all and learning what the real world is, I've been surrounded by beauty safety and magic ever since. I like to be positive spread smiles.I'm 22 now. And heard this news about the others recently. It's a shock, it's a terifying thought. I don't know what to feel right now. I've seen the ways in which they end livee. I don't want to be caught
@Tinywhisper11 I'm so sorry to hear about the immense suffering you've endured. No one deserves to experience such cruelty and abuse. I can't imagine how frightening it must feel to learn of potential threats after finally finding safety. We are all here to support you Tiny. You are not alone in this. Thank you for sharing and opening up about it
There are some anxiety-producing things going on right now. The facility where I go three times a week for peer-to-peer group meetings has some "drama" now. I'm not sure just who is involved. There evidently were some things that happened last week, maybe during meetings I didn't attend. I'm glad that it didn't involve me. Someone did make up a story about me, saying I was complaining about something. I hadn't complained about anything and I think that's straightened out now. Hard to tell.
There is a woman who had been attending some groups until last fall, when her health kept her from making it in for several months. She has an auto-immune disorder and it really hit her hard. She had to go through physical therapy before she could walk again. About a month ago, she came back and attended a group. She had a lot to say, and people complained that she talked too much. I just figured she was making up for all the time she missed and didn't let it bother me. The woman who runs the place talked to her about it and it got ugly. This has caused some more drama. I might get dragged into it by the woman who just returned because she knows I have some things I'm not happy about - two of the group meetings I liked to attend were taken off the schedule and replaced with groups that don't apply to me.
So sorry for all the drama. Group meetings are all about working as a team and being accepting and it so hard when those teams break down a bit. But they can be rebuilt with patience. I hope that happens for you. @WharfRat
@WharfRat I am sorry to hear that, Wharf. It sounds like a difficult situation with many feelings involved. There is understandable concern about others' perceptions and the changes affecting what has supported you. How are you managing your own well-being through this time of transition?
Please know that you have all of us here, to share your experience as feels helpful for you.
@ASilentObserver
I'm taking this week off from attending the group meetings, mainly because my friend is in town. He's looking for a new place to live because he wants to move back from the part of the country where he's been living for nine years.
That sounds like a good idea. Have fun with your friend.@WharfRat
@ASilentObserver not stable. Tired. Grieving.
I can't take any sleeping meds anymore and my sleep is back to being a no sleep. Everything goes down with it. But I'm holding on. I might get some antidepressants at the end of the month. I don't know if it will help.
@mish3l You have been going through a difficult time without sleep and grieving, Michele. Not being able to sleep can take its toll. You mentioned holding on - it shows real strength that you are still taking care of yourself. I hope the antidepressants might bring some relief if you do decide to try them. We are all here with you
