What do you hate about yourself?
Depression is bizarre in how in alters the way we think. We may know logically that it is our depression making us think this way but knowing that doesn't invalidate it. So write down what exactly you hate about yourself, let it all out. Once you do look back at what you wrote. Hopefully documenting your thought process will make it easier to work through your issues. Plus we will all be here to help.
I hate my hair. I hate how my face is either dry or way too oily. I hate the extra fat on my body. I hate that I hate the fat on my body. I hate my inability to care about... anything. I hate how Im too introverted to make friends but too extroverted to not be around people. I hate that I complain when I know there are people with so much less than me. I hate the way I sing. I hate that I care what people think of me. I hate that I dont overeat but Im still fat because of a slow metabolism. I hate how Im depressed when I dont have the right to be. I hate being too self-aware to be ok with my depression and anxiety. I hate being younger than everyone else. I hate that somehow Im still surrounded by idiots. And I hate how much I hate.
@Idek03
i feel EXACTLY the same way but adding
*I hate that Chester Bennington is not here anymore and I hate that Im too pussy to join him
@Chesterdeeds
I hate how Chester's gone too. The news hit hard. Sadly, he couldn't fight it but we still have a chance. Really, music probably is one of the only things that keeps me going anymore. Stay strong for Chester ❤
I'm too afraid to lose someone in life, and ended up losing them and myself in the process. I hate the fact that I think nothing bad will happen to me as long as I'm kind to everyone, but situation proves otherwise. I am still glad I have a lot who cares about me. I let people get rude to me and let them just talk whatever they want about me. What I hate about myself? I hate being too kind and too forgiving. 🦋🦋🦋
@MieraCurie
You have such a good heart
I hate the fact that I try so hard to protect myself from being hurt so hard it doesn
Hey! good to see people participating here. I think it is better to ask or think about what do you like about yourself rather than what you hate because that eventually makes you feel even worse. we are here to overcome our depression and negative thoughts not to go deep into them. I hope I make sense, have a wonderful day guys :-)
@adonianile56
Hi adon, dont worry about your comments and thoughts. (No right/wrong here.)
Of course, it is "recommended" to look at brighter side "most" of the times. (Law of Attraction - zzz, sick and tired of this...)
But prolly this thread is more of a balance instead? To call upon the other side, the darker place. and let it out.
@mikenai22
It makes sense. I just let my thoughts out, have a great day!
@Excitingeasting
Thank you. Same to you too.
Forgiveness:
What I hate about myself is my habit of not forgiving and moving on. I'm in my 20's and just a few years ago I lost a warehouse job and moved in with my mom. I've since moved out, but I'm having trouble moving on from that time. While I was there she was dating this friend of my brothers who had already been to prison once. One day there we came back from shopping and he sticks a knife to my throat in front of my mother and brother. All that happens is they both say "well, what did you do to him?" After that I left. A few days after that he wound up back in prison for beating up the wrong woman. While he was gone my mom was angry with me for upsetting him. We fought this whole time. Well 4 years later and he has been out of prison for a few weeks. About 6 months ago my mom hit hard times and moved in with me and my fiance. The whole time she was here she had no respect for us or our home. I told her that when he got out of prison I didn't want him near me or my home. Well no shock I suppose, I leave to pick up my fiance one night, and she leaves my house unlocked, her dogs had chewed everything in my home, and she was walking around with the boyfriend near my home. I tell her that she has broken my rules and that she needs to leave because she put my home, my animals, and my fiance in danger. The next day she gathered her things and moved out. She says that I am hateful and need to apologize to him, and he wants to talk to me and say he is sorry. 2 weeks ago he came up to my car and I told him to stay away from me or I will make sure that he winds up back in prison. He hasn't spoken to me since. I can't forgive my mom. I trusted her and she acts like it was nothing? I know that I need to forgive her in order to move on, but it's not happening right now. How do I forgive her even when I'll never be able to trust her again? It's not even him that I'm angry at. I don't want him near me for my own safety, and I don't like the guy, but I don't care about him. I care about how my own mother made me feel unsafe of her. It sometimes keeps me up at night thinking about it. I need to let it go so that I can move on qnd not feel compelled to help my mom. I need to let her go and I don't know how to do it.
@fearlessBeechwood91
Wow, I read your post and my first thought was that your brother didn't kick his ass? Because if you were my sister, I would have. I know I have a temper at times but no real man would threaten or raise a hand to a woman. Ever. And to go to prison for it and your mom still wants to be with him? That's effed up.
@fearlessBeechwood91
Hey fearless,
I completely understand where you are coming from. I used to have a hard time forgiving someone, but holding onto anger and betrayal didn't help me infact it made me more angry. So, I forgive for my sake but I usually don't forget my lesson.
Take care!
everything, honestly. I can't look at myself in the mirror and smile and say that I like anything about myself
Hey guys to all of you who think youre not good enough embrace your flaws because they make you you . I know this sounds cliche but I hope yall get through whatever problems you have
stay stron
@gentleCoconut6511 hey I agree with you. Thank you for writing down something positive, it really helps!
I'm sick of false positivity. I'm sick of picking out the little things I like about myself like picking daisies in a vast field of weeds. I hate myself, and that's honest. There are some things I like about myself, but overall, I think I'm a despicable person. Everyone else agrees, which is why I have no friends. I'm a pathological liar. I'm pretentious and crass. I'm emotionally constipated, fatally shy, and I'm eternally self-pitying. Crying "I lied to someone. Poor, pitiful me" as if I was the victim. Constanly begging for sympathy from the people I love making them worry for nothing. I treat people awfully. I can't stand to look at myself.
Should murderers love themselves? Should child rapists?
i hate that im so boring. i hate that everyone prefers literally anyone else rather than me. i hate that i cant hold a conversation with anyone because i am so full. i hate the fact im short. i hate the fact im not pretty like everyone else. why arent i skinny and tall. why cant i look how i want. i hate what looks back at me in the mirror
@ivoryKiwi2102
*i am so dull
I hate I am to shy to talk to people and make friends or establish a relationship, I hate my hair, I hate I'm not to feminine, I hate I know the answers but won't say it because to shy, I hate feeling judge by others all the time, I hate I judge myself so hard, I hate I can't enjoy the good things that happens in my life, I hate myself so much
