What do you hate about yourself?

Depression is bizarre in how in alters the way we think. We may know logically that it is our depression making us think this way but knowing that doesn't invalidate it. So write down what exactly you hate about yourself, let it all out. Once you do look back at what you wrote. Hopefully documenting your thought process will make it easier to work through your issues. Plus we will all be here to help.

At the moment - everything. I hate the depression - the anxiety. I hate that I can't be more normal. I can't find any enjoyment in anything. I hate that I can't even escape by sleeping. I hate that I feel like I'm bothering people because there's always something wrong with me.

I hate that I can't love myself. No matter what I do, it's not good enough to me. I've done so many amazing things in my life and I am greatly loved by many, yet I still feel like I am undeserving and useless. I think it's because with how I've acted towards my best friend in a manipulative and hurtful way, I can't forgive myself and I feel like I don't deserve her friendship. With my sister, I feel like I don't deserve her respect or love because I don't meet her needs. And with my parents, I don't feel like I deserve their approval or support because I never did that well in school. That's all that I see in myself. A failure, a manipulator, a loser, a moocher, a coward, a monster. If you ask anyone who knows me, they'll tell you so many amazing things about me. But I still hate myself. If I could see what they see, I don't think I would claw for validation from friends, I wouldn't be as anxious, I could prosper. But I can't love myself. I don't believe I deserve it.

I hate that I can't stand up for myself and letting people walk all over me.

for me, i hate for how i've stooped so low and become a mess of negativity and wished i was young (like, say, 10 or 12) since i was much happier and positive.

I hate how well I know myself. Like I know for sure that each time I make a goal there's a big chance of me quitting or giving up on it because what I've done isn't good enough, doesn't have any meaning, or makes me feel nothing.

Where to start...

My job, my face, myself in general, my inability to wake up in the morning, the fact that every day is the same walking nightmare of moving from one lonely place to another sometimes not even saying a single word to another human being, the loneliness, the isolation, my awkwardness and the fact that I'm a gloomy husk of a person with all the charisma and likeability of a bowl of cold porridge.
