What do you hate about yourself?
Depression is bizarre in how in alters the way we think. We may know logically that it is our depression making us think this way but knowing that doesn't invalidate it. So write down what exactly you hate about yourself, let it all out. Once you do look back at what you wrote. Hopefully documenting your thought process will make it easier to work through your issues. Plus we will all be here to help.
@cosmicjellyfishqueen, I hate that I'm mentally sick. I absolutely hate it. I don't have anything or anyone and it is because I can't function. I want so badly to be normal.
@purpleTree4652
I feel the same way. I hate the person that I have become honestly, because of my depression and my negative thinking. It is a cycle that needs to be broken. I think negatively and then I mentally beat myself up for it. I think in the end, we have to find ways to love ourselves some how. It's a lot easier said than done for sure, but let's get through this together. I can't stand myself, but there is a God that made me and loves me, and I hope I can learn to love myself the way He loves me. I wish the same for you too. 🙂
@wishfulRose80, you're a sweetheart. i wish the same for you.
I am short and not good looking
@aquaPlane9275, I like short. :) I find that the "not good looking" people are often the really attractive people. They are the ones who care and are sensitive. I relate to what you are saying. I was born with an incomplete cleft lip.
@purpleTree4652 Thanks But am in my late 20s and have a hard time finding someone, with everyone obsessed with social media and filtered images. Good looks and height seems to be the only parameters for relationships. Nobody bothers to check for anything else and am at the bottom of the dating pool
I hate that I don
@NguyenKid2
Dont ever let other people define WHO YOU ARE.
@RealTree3
I agree. That is something I need to work on too.
I'm always the third wheel whenever I hangout with my friends. When we're in a group, even if it's an even number of people, I end up being excluded from the conversation, and even if they're not doing it on purpose, it does hurt to know that they're not paying any attention to me.
@modestBranch662, That does hurt and it shows that there is something wrong with their social skills, and nothing wrong with you.
My social anxiety and people telling me to act normal. What is "normal"? This is me and I'm not perfect but being told to act normal really makes me hate that I'm not the social butterfly that everyone wants me to be.
I hate how people view me, it makes me think thats who and what I am
Tbh, sometimes I hate my sexuality. I feel ashamed (due to homophobic parents)
Everything?
I don't know. Everything and nothing. Sometimes i look in the mirror and think 'oh hell yea this is who I am' but other times I catch glimpses of myself in store windows or shiny car doors and think 'who tf is that'. Idk. I hate my stomach, my thick thighs. I hate how bulky my arms look in tank tops and dresses, but I feel so proud when I flex in the mirror and see the muscles I'm building. I hate my adhd, but it makes me who I am. I hate my anxiety and depression because they try to kill me. But they make me stronger. So short answer: I hate who I see in the mirror, because my flaws are the first thing I see. That girl is who I am right now, but not who I will be in an hour, a week, a year. (Idk if this made sense. It's late lol)
@tinysnowflakes
I realte to a lot of what you're saying, it seems like you came a long way how did you get to that point?
My desire for instant gratification
