What do you hate about yourself?
Depression is bizarre in how in alters the way we think. We may know logically that it is our depression making us think this way but knowing that doesn't invalidate it. So write down what exactly you hate about yourself, let it all out. Once you do look back at what you wrote. Hopefully documenting your thought process will make it easier to work through your issues. Plus we will all be here to help.
I hate that I can't talk to the people I care about. Either I will hurt them by admitting anything, or they will silently judge me, or they will never take their eyes off me again... I hate that I'm so scared of my own mind, terrified. I hate that sometimes I do things that are dangerous and I don't know if I've done them on purpose or by accident.
I hate that I'm carrying on for everyone else. I hate that I'm unable to fight for myself. I hate that I have people I care about... Because without them I wouldn't have to.
I hate that I magnify into each one of my faults and I hate that it makes it hard for me to do even the smallest jobs.
@Elon I understand that and I'm sorry you feel that way.. *hugs*
@PuppyLove13
Hello there! <3
Thank you, thanks a ton. Hugs back.
I beleive all those we hate and consider negative in our life can be seem as positive and find strength in it! We all dislike some part of ourselves, but we can all be on the progress of accepting and changing :) !
@staywithyou What a beautiful thought! Love it! <3
I hate that I'm worried all the time, I feel like every little thing I do someone could hate me over. I hate that people always stare at me and whisper, and I can't tell if it's good or bad. I hate that I put on a mask so often I can't tell if I'm actually wearing a mask anymore. I hate that I'm so sensitive and I cry so easily and people tease me about it. I hate how I look. I hate how useless I can be when comforting my friends. I hate that I'm not smart enough to do anything. I hate that I don't understand my own emotions. I hate that I don't know where to draw the line.
I hate a lot of things about myself. I hate that I'm a big time hypocrite about Christian stuff. I've made many of the same mistakes I wasted time judging others for & I talk the talk but my walk just doesn't match up. I hate being overly sensitive. The least little things can upset me or make me mad & I regret it later & feel stupid. I hate how I look, I hate how I feel about myself every day. I hate not measuring up to my own standards of being a good wife & mother. I hate the way my mind works, I feel broken & sometimes I honestly feel like I'm just rotting from the inside out. So pretty much I hate just about everything about myself. :(
@honestLime3565 I'm sorry you've been feeling that way, but I totally understand it. It can be difficult enough to be a Christian, and it's so easy to be a hypocrite - we've all done it. On one hand, you've got Christ's guarantee of forgiveness, but on the other hand, I know so many fellow believers in my life who seem to be living out their faith and helping others while I feel like all I do is talk a big game on social media but never back it up with action in real life, hiding under the covers in my depression. It's hard to live by any code of behavior that calls us to step outside our comfort zones. I'm with you about that feeling of brokenness and rotting on the inside - I hope it's helping us to become more humble, and make us more sympathetic to other people's troubles and perceived flaws, and maybe it'll help us to seek God out in prayer? I don't mean to get preachy with you; I'm sorry you've been feeling that way, and I sympathize.
@Faramir Thank you for that, I truly needed to hear that. You & I sound allt alike for sure. I've always been one who could talk the talk but as far as walking the walk it's just one big constant stumble. I hope that God can use all of this to help us both, maybe it's His way of showing us we need Him & that we really can overcome all of this. I mean we're human, so granted we'll make mistakes & there will definitely be shortcomings but He does say His strength is made perfect in our weakness so maybe that's what He wants to do as well.
Idk....guess if I hate enything it's that when I'm emotionaly unstabel.
Everything. All
I hate myself for letting depression and anxiety get the better of me and making me believe that I am nothing and i should hate myself, sadly I still believe it.
I analyze the past
