Bad birthday vibes
My birthday is coming up and I bought two tickets to a show I’ve been wanting to see, one for me and one for my boyfriend of many years. I was hoping to spend some time with him for my birthday, or just someone really, because I don’t feel like I have anyone a lot of the time. He said he didn’t want to go, “wasn’t sure if he’d like it”. This is all I asked for, I spent 350+ dollars for his birthday, and I can’t even get him to join me on mine. I’m spiraling so bad right now.

Have you expressed how important this is to you and that it's more than just a show? Maybe he is unaware of how this is the one special thing you wanted to do for your birthday or doesn't see this as a great way to bond and get closer. I really hope he reconsider and is able to compromise with you on this. After all, your special day is coming up and you deserve all the happiness and love. ♡ I hope that even if he does not change his mind about accompanying you that you do not let it spoil your fun.
