May is Mental Health Awareness Month, a time to nurture our minds with kindness and honour the courage it takes to grow, even in small ways.

"You don't have to carry everything forever. Some things are meant to be like raindrops, felt, then released."🌧️

Today, choose the prompt which works best for you :

Option 1: Physical Jar 🫙

What You’ll Need:

  • A jar

  • Paper, scissors, and a pen (or use sticky notes!).

Steps:

  1. Cut raindrop shapes from paper.

  2. Write worries, fears, or stressors on each raindrop. (Example: “Overthinking future plans,” “Guilt for taking a day off.”)

  3. Fold them and place in your jar.

Optional: Add glitter as a symbol of hope.

Option 2: Digital Jar 🫙

  • Choose Your Platform:

  • Notes App Method:

  • 📱 Create a folder titled “Letting Go” in your phone’s notes app.

  • 💧 Type worries as individual notes, then delete/archive them one by one

  • Virtual Design:

  • 🎨 Use free tools like Canva or Google Slides to design a jar. Add text-box “raindrops” and drag them in.

  •    Symbolic Release:

  • 🌧️ Type worries in a document while listening to rain sounds, then close the file without saving.

How to Participate:

  1. Create your jar (physical or digital).

  2. Share a photo/screenshot of your jar or list 1-2 things you’re releasing.

I actually just did this, where I wrote a note to my kids’ step-mom and told her how inappropriate it was what she has been doing. I wrote out a VERY long note. It took me probably an hour, writing and rewriting. Then, I decided it was best to not respond to he at all. So I deleted it. It was a little painful to delete at first, but then I felt a bigger peace than if I had written her. She’d never have opened her ears and listened, it just would have spurred more empty words from her. It was as if I sent it to her, and yet I didn’t.
