🌟 Day 17 & 18: Double the Care for Mental Health Awareness Month 🌟
May is Mental Health Awareness Month, a time to honour our needs and nurture our minds. Apologies for the missed post yesterday; sometimes rest is part of the journey! Here are two activities to help you ground yourself and release worries.
🌱 DAY 17: HALT Checklist for Distress Tolerance 🌱
“Self-care isn’t selfish, it’s survival. Let’s check in with your basics.” 🍃
Activity 🍀: Use the HALT method to identify unmet needs:
Hungry: When did you last eat/drink?
Angry: What’s fueling frustration? Name the emotion.
Lonely: Have you connected with someone today?
Tired: How’s your sleep? Do you need rest?

Why this helps 🍀 : Addressing core needs (food, sleep, connection) stabilizes emotions.
☁️ DAY 18: Worry Cloud Release ☁️
“Worries are like clouds, they drift, but they don’t define your sky.” 🌦️
Activity ☁️:

1️⃣ Write worries on the clouds.
2️⃣ Circle worries you can act on.
3️⃣ Release the rest: Visualize them floating away.
Why this helps 🌦️: Separates actionable vs. uncontrollable worries to reduce overwhelm.
Share your journey 🌷:
- Tag your response(s) with #HALTforHope (Day 17) or #WorryClouds (Day 18) or Tag both!
🌷 Remember:
“Mental health isn’t about perfection, it’s about showing up, even imperfectly.”
P.S. Take these activities at your own pace, you’re doing great by simply being here. 💖
@Angelanj
“It’s about showing up”~ indeed it is. 💛
These are such wonderful activities to do a self check in and get more in touch with ourselves. I’d definitely try, thanks for sharing lovely! 🫂
