🌸 Day 5 - Petals of Progress Challenge 🌸
May is Mental Health Awareness Month, a time to nurture our minds with kindness and celebrate small steps forward.
The poet Rumi once said, "The wound is the place where the light enters you."
Just like flowers face storms in order to bloom stronger, our challenges can shape our growth. Today, let’s honour how far we’ve come.
🌷 Today's Prompt 🌷 :
Reflect on a recent difficulty you faced, big or small. How did you move through it? Share:
1. The storm ⛈️: What was the challenge? (e.g. low mood, or a stressful day)
2. Your petals of resilience 🌸 : What helped you cope?
3. One way you grew 🌱 : Did you discover unexpected strength?
Optional Extra 🌷: Imagine your progress as a flower. Describe its colours, thorns, or smell. How would it tell your story?
1. The storm ⛈️:
My kids’ step-mom has been interfering in the agreements between their dad and I. She has a problem with the faith denomination we chose for our kids long ago, and he’s started changing everything to appease her. She stepped way over the line recently, telling me I’m going to *** because of my denomination, just because I wanted them to send a summer camp.
2. Your petals of resilience 🌸 : What helped me cope, was I realized she is someone it is better to not respond to. Sometimes it’s good to reply, sometimes it’s better not to. Her heart is not open and only argues with anything I have to say. I did not get what I was hoping for, but I decided to give my worries to a higher power, and it really did help.
3. One way you grew 🌱 : Did you discover unexpected strength?
Yes. I thought I might feel bitter, but I actually feel really freed the last couple days. I have been doing more projects around the house and had more energy.
