Depression

I have had severe depression for twenty years. It’s exhausting—but it’s also exhausting being depressed and not feeling like you can catch a single break. I often think, if I could just take three months off from work, I may be able to heal. But that’s not possible. A couple of years ago, I had a co-worker who’s anxiety and depression and stress drove her to pass out at work and an ambuLance had to be called. I wish we could get the breaks we need. That is all. 🤍

Living with severe depression for twenty years is incredibly challenging. It's exhausting to feel like you never catch a break. Sometimes, you wish you could take time off work to focus on healing, but that's not always possible. It's disheartening to see others struggling with mental health at work without getting the breaks they need. Remember, you're not alone, and it's okay to prioritize your well-being. If you ever need support, I'm here for you.

Thank you! I appreciate your response. 🌸

Yes, it’s a real struggle when you’re suffering and still have to go to work. I have mornings where I can’t stop crying and I somehow have to pull myself together to go to work. It’s not easy. Today was especially difficult. I don’t know how I made it through the day…😔

@Olive1Q82

I have struggled with severe depression,(along with too many other things ) for nearly fifty years. I have no solutions, just wanted to chime in and say you’re not alone in the long term struggles department.

@Olive1Q82 I was in another depression group and they were all living off disability and still dealing with depression. In my case I know my job makes me more depressed because I work in isolation with no peers and no supervision. I am very lonely. I'm taking steps to change jobs, but it's slow going. Trying to stay motivated. I'm over 50 and I've struggled with depression since I was in my teens. It's time to change this.
