Depression, grief, ptsd and Misunderstood

What I love most about depression and this site is the lack of empathy and compassion.

Speaking some emotions with words and those being turned into misconceptions are My absolute favorite.

The next favorite is being told to find a hobby , take meds 😂

Grief is something that knocks me down and has me dancing with depression and ptsd with triggers and tremors sitting in darkness hoping for stars.

I used to really love going into chats and being supportive in forums but lately it's such a disappointment to come here.

It's just like real life 😂🌟

@SummerKay2024 You've noticed this too?  Maybe I'm wrong but you genuinely listen and try to help and be supportive but when you need some support it's lacking in pretty much every area?

@SummerKay2024 I'm so sorry you've been experiencing this too. It hurts when you give so much to others but then you struggle to receive even a fraction of that in return when you're in need 😞

This has been my experience too. In the past I've always handled things alone but I thought being here as long as I have - being active here - I thought it would be different. I was wrong

*offers safe hugs* If it gets flagged and deleted that'll be a shame because it's nice to see the truth of how it is for some people here

Hey Summer.

I find that in chats, unless it's like a designated discussion time run by a host, all other general chats are filled with people who do not know how to show empathy. So at most times, I avoid going into random chats.

Grief really is a journey that only those who are going through the same thing (losing a person close to us), will understand what we are dealing with. For all those other types of grief (aside from losing a person resulting in them passing away), it is still different. I find those type of people, they try to understand what we're going through, but they don't know, that when they compare their grief to ours, it hurts/angers us more than feeling their empathy (this happened to me with a colleague). It's like they feel grief, no matter which type, has the same kind of affect on people; so they share their grief with us, thinking it would help us feel better. Make it seem like they understand what we're going through, or, giving us the idea how they reacted to their grief and expects us to be the same.

Oh my gosh, Summer.

You know.. I started attending a group support for grief in my hometown.. and there was this one girl who has had many deaths in her family over the past couple years.. like, one after the other.. it was so heartbreaking, apparently, a couple of hours before she attended the session, someone she knew was found dead behind some building.. We were all thinking "How did you even make it to the session?"..

It's like back-to-back grief, piling up and not being able to see the light anymore.. My heart feels heavy for you, Summer.

Thats how I feel mostly as if I was in a bad dream but very real. It's really sad to hear there's more souls out there like me. I'm at 14 in 3 years. This sadness has made me kinder. At least it shapes us keeps us on our toes until stars our found or ur just numb to it.  I really appreciate you taking the time to reply. Have a great weekend

Kay, it is really sad that there are people like you who've lost so many people in a short amount of time.. From our group chats previously, it does seem you're moving forward with each grieving journey.. It shows me that there is hope to move forward with my grief.

I think with that lady in my group support, attending the session was the only breathing hole for her.. that's why she showed up.. she looked so broken as she listed everyone she has lost.. all either from self-harm or violence.. It's so sad how those who passed with self-harm did not reach out for help before they made the decision to end their lives and kept everything to themselves..

Take care, Kay.. I'll always be here if you need to vent~

Chats, support groups and systems, and forums help but they are not the solution. The only true, lasting way forward is to find the strength and solutions within yourself. Therein lies the challenge against the challenge of depression. Good Luck, my fellow traveler!

SummerKay,

I think at some point it is not about trying to get help anymore.  it's about just finding the strength to endure suffering.

@SummerKay2024 Yes, many times, users here give responses as if pre-programmed to be pseudo-therapist NPC's with cliche advice.

Your path is your path and I hope you keep running into people who hear you and see you <3.
