Feeling Invisible, Overwhelmed, and Slowly Disconnecting
Feeling Invisible, Overwhelmed, and Slowly Disconnecting
I’m a teenager who has been carrying a lot for a long time, and I think I finally need to say it out loud.
Lately, I feel emotionally exhausted and overwhelmed. At home, I’m constantly judged for small things—waking up late, not doing things “the right way,” or simply existing. There is a lot of shouting, blaming, and hurtful words, especially from elders, and over time it has made me feel like I’m never enough. I’ve grown used to being compared, criticized, and told that my worth depends on obedience, productivity, or silence.
At school, things aren’t much better. I’ve been taken advantage of financially by classmates, and when I finally spoke up, it became a whole scene involving teachers. I did get part of my money back, but the rest is still unresolved, and it hurts that people try to “settle” things in ways that benefit them, not me. I’m tired of being polite while being treated unfairly.
Socially, I feel very alone. During breaks and lunch, I usually sit by myself, watching videos just to pass time. People are around, but I don’t feel connected to them. Even when they act friendly, something in me keeps pulling away. I think I’m starting to emotionally distance myself again—not because I hate people, but because it feels safer to expect nothing.
Emotionally, I struggle with fear of abandonment, sensitivity to rejection, and intense emotions that come in waves. Sometimes I feel like different parts of me react differently to the same situation, which makes me confused about myself. I’m not trying to label myself—I just know that my inner world feels chaotic, and I’m trying to understand it.
There has also been harassment in my life for months, which I finally reported. Speaking up helped a little, but it also made me feel exposed and questioned—like I waited too long, or like it was somehow my fault. That made me feel small again.
Physically and mentally, stress shows up in my body too—fatigue, difficulty concentrating, and moments where my mind feels blocked even though I want to study and do better. I do care about my future. I do want to grow. But right now, it feels like I’m surviving more than living.
Despite all this, I’m still trying. I’m trying to be responsible, to protect myself, to learn independence, to find motivation again. I’m trying not to let bitterness consume me, even though I feel hurt and used at times.
I’m sharing this because I don’t want to pretend anymore that I’m “fine.” I don’t need judgment or fixing—I just need to be heard, understood, and reminded that I’m not weak for feeling this way.
If anyone relates, you’re not alone. And if you’re reading this—thank you for listening.

I'm sorry you are feeling so alone.
And isolated.
Both at home and at school.
It can feel intense and be overwhelming.
It's good you can vent here.
It's good you can let it all out.
Because what you have to say matters alot.
💚
