Feeling overwhelmed

I feel I have always been depressed and I sporadically had moments where I felt truly happy, I can could them in one hand though…I feel like I am always sad and complaining even if I am always trying to do something about it. But I’m tired…I’m exhausted…I feel like I’m driving a car full speed on a roundabout….keep missing exits, don’t even know what exit I should take…I’ve been told to change negative thoughts with positive…is it just that simple?! What about past trauma?…thank you for listening.

I am sad 😔 that you are unhappy alot of your life. Your stronger 💪 than you think because you are reaching out for support.

These past traumas aren't you, they are real, but try to be kind to yourself because you had courage to get through them!

Sending 🫂 if it's ok.

Hello and welcome to 7 cups.  It is very nice to meet you.  Sorry that you are struggling with depression.  Replacing negative thoughts with positive thoughts is easier said than done.  I have heard that trying to avoid things that cause triggers is helpful as well. Expressing your thoughts and feelings is healthier than keeping them to yourself.  Please feel free to message me if you would like to chat.  We want to hear from you and will do our best to try to help you.

i wish i had the answer. i want u to know that u aren’t alone and that im here. we’re here. when ur dark thoughts get too much u can just post here and we’ll listen. i’m with u on the same boat. i think what helps is finding an outlet for these feelings. journaling. or talking to a friend. or even posting on here. letting out these feelings is important or they’ll eat u up inside. i don’t think there’s a way to stop those thoughts. atleast i haven’t found any yet. i do think u can just lower the voices by letting those feelings out or distracting urself. i’m wishing u the best and sending u love💞

Thank you all. Your words and support means a lot.

I do try to journal, I’m in therapy, which is stupidly hard(!!!) and I feel like I’m not doing enough there too but at the same time I don’t know what I am supposed to do, if it makes sense. I love yoga and I have other little practices and rituals to support me, as well as friends; though, I wish I could just not be in this situation, I know it’s pathetic because it is what it is. It’s just that the pain sometimes is so hard to accept it.

What do you do that help?
