How do people get over so many things?

I've always felt like life always wins and I lose. I am constantly sad, constantly stressed out and deeply hurting. I thought I was finally happy, and I truly believe I have been for the past year, but now I'm back to being hopeless. All of a sudden everything feels extremely uphill and my backpack gets heavier and heavier. How do other people manage to just keep going? Is anything really worth the pain?

@bonebone

I do not think it is about getting over things ... but rather the way others look at things...

Everyone has those times and i do not say days because it can be much longer then you anticipate but times where everything seems like a battle and not worth it...... some have the complete belief that things will work out in the end ....

i look around at small things everyday and see how i might need to adjust my perspective when i am depressed .... attitude changes more moods then meds.

@bonebone I have this thing where I think I’m over something and it will never affect me again, like I “found the trick to being happy.” But I have come to see it more like a process, where I get better at certain skills, but life always brings changes and I find myself having to learn more skills or better develop the ones I have. Skills like gratitude, meditation, learning to not catastrophize. Without the hard times I think I wouldn’t put work or as much work into these skills. I don’t like the work but I also don’t know a better alternative and seems to me I keep getting a little bit better through it all.. Anyway, I hope you find happiness again soon.
