Loosing friends

I guess i have done it. I have driven my last friend away.

I am sad but at the same time it is a relief. This friend was always inviting me to things and i don't want to go do them right now. It is stressful to be invited turn it down and then have someone spend the next 15 minutes telling you how great activity X is like that makes a difference. He got me to go to a climbing Gym, i made the mistake of telling him that i might like to go again sometime. To him that meant going every week so i had to turn him down over and over until he gave up.

He doesn't get it. He is super social to the point if he spent two days truly alone i think he would go into a depression. He has plenty of friends and is good at making new ones so no loss to him.

@Gettingbettertoday

i know what you mean at my work they do TEAM building at bars all are very into drinking and i just do not go .......... have politely explained I do NOT drink and not a fun time watching others get sloshed.

People invite me to things but often in opposite direction from home and i have a pet that needs out for potty reasons.... they all seem to think i am rude or not a team player but seriously letting my dog messing the house so i can have a soda while these guys are drinking big is not my idea of great.

went to a few places with a friend for them a flea market and a framers market ...... another friend thinks i should want to go with them to same thing ... i did not go in the first place let alone several times.

Is it a loss to you? It sounds like getting away was a good move. We don't all have to be super social.

What other kinds of things do you like to do?@Gettingbettertoday

Those are all active and more social kinds of things. That is great. Living on the computer isn't so much. Do you ever go to comic book stores or do some blacksmithing or go somewhere where people are playing board games? It doesn't have to be constant at all. But if you try one or two occasionally you might find a friend that fits better with your personality. @Gettingbettertoday

Those all sound excellent. Have you ever met anyone blacksmithing? I also agree with the person below that you could look for a board games club.

I know that such things probably feel a bit frightening. But small doses of them can really help you to reconnect. @Gettingbettertoday

My Black Smithing is done in my garage. No one to meet there.

I have been to plenty of games groups over the years. They do provide you with something to do but i have hardly gotten to know anyone from it.

That sounds like quite a collection! You should be proud of it.

Have you ever thought about inviting that one friend that you think you are losing to play a game with you?

How have you been feeling about friends in general in the last week or so?@Gettingbettertoday

i say find a board game club! i know it might be hard to socialise or get out the house but thats okay. You might find a friend that is like you and you can come to when your in the mood for playing board games. (or find people who are interested in the same comics as you!)
