I really love to go to the gym and lift heavy weights, but its getting harder and harder for me to go. I'm losing the joy in it. I feel bad when I don't go, but i also feel bad when I do. Im at a loss. I've lost enjoyment in all of my hobbies. How do I save this one before its completely gone? Its especially hard right now because band camp just started and I am a drum major.

@PiercetheLyd Your hobby of going to the gym is not wrong, but it needs more motivation. I'm giving you this guide to increase your enjoyment and help you find an actual goal for the gym.

@PiercetheLyd Do you remember what gave you the most joy in the gym?

Are you able to name what has changed? Spend some time trying to name it? Ask yourself again the next day? I believe it’s good to learn to give your feelings some attention and try to understand them in general.

Could it be something like the exercising becoming a responsibility in your mind? It sounds like you are biting yourself up when you miss it. It also sounds that you are worried you will give up fully. What if you make a deal with yourself like „I won’t be upset with myself if I only miss one day a time”? What kind of deal could make sense for you?

@PiercetheLyd I'm sorry to hear that 😕 I wish I had advice, all I can say is I hope it gets easier soon 💙

@PiercetheLydI

I like to work out as well. However, sometimes I can get so devoted that it becomes a chore. When that happens, I step back and take a break from it. And especially now, with all of the heat, I find that I loose all  motivation. Perhaps this  could be an opportunity to just focus on and enjoy band camp.
