Manifesting wrong

I read about manifestation that if you're saying 'I deserve good things' and feeling 'Nothing good is happening to me', you'll get the opposite of what you're trying to manifest.

So I thought ill do this right. I've been trying to feel good but it doesn't last. Today I woke up feeling scared and I've been chanting prayers since. This happens to me a lot. My mind feels locked. I can't control it.

Can anyone help... How can I do this manifesting thing right.

@Creamyyy I'm not an expert on this, and at 7 Cups we are not allowed to give advice anyway, but my understanding is that manifesting is about tapping into a universal source of energy, so you have to provide a clear path to allow the energy to come to you.

For example, if you feel scared and you resist the feeling by chanting, then you are setting up two conflicting energy paths and they will simply reinforce each other in conflict. I think this might be the source of the feeling you have that your mind is locked and you have no control. Likewise, if you have thoughts about good things and also thoughts that nothing good is happening, then you have two conflicting energy paths there.

From what I've read, everyone seems to agree that manifesting is a very tricky thing to get right. I get the impression that it works best if you can achieve clarity about the path your'e on, without introducing a conflicting path. For example, if you wake up feeling scared, go with that feeling, draw energy to it, and see where the path leads you. There's an underlying principle that the Universe knows best, in some sense, and if you follow the path you're on it will take you to where you're meant to be.

Of course there's a lot of guidance to be found on the Internet. One example I think might be useful is: The Do’s and Don’ts of Manifesting

@RarelyCharlie if I don't suppress my fear, won't it lead me to darker places?

@Creamyyy I think the theory of it is that the energy of the Universe is always positive in the long run. But yes, there might be darker places along the way.

Can you be more specific here in the forum about what you fear? Or is it something you could discuss in more detail with a listener?

@RarelyCharlie I have 2 recurring fears. One is fear of failure and second is fear of being abused. Both come from a place of experience where as a result of these, I felt shame and sadness.

@Creamyyy Again, I am not an expert, but this makes it sound like experiences in your past have caused a kind of trauma, resulting in long term shame and sadness.

And again, there's a lot of guidance about that to be found on the Internet. For example, I Googled overcoming trauma and immediately found: How to Recognize and Overcome Trauma. Here's a quote from the article: "Traumatised people are, above anything else, scared…" I didn't watch the video, but I hope it might be helpful for you.

It may be that meditation in this way simply doesn't work for your brain. That is okay. It doesn't work for me either. Keep trying other forms. @Creamyyy

That makes sense, but when you spend too much time criticizing yourself for making mistakes with it that is really hard on you. Do the best to care for yourself during the process of learning it.

I spent years getting extremely frustrated with myself because meditation was too hard. I couldn't stay focused no matter what I was trying and I never felt relaxed. So I would get even more depressed.

Then I decided that my brain simply moved too fast for that particular kind of focus. I did better with singing breathing where I had certain breath patterns and vocal tones in mind.

Each person is different. @Creamyyy

@bestVase7265 yeah im not a meditation person either. It just never clicked with me. For this reason I haven't tried it much either. What works for me well are prayers. Also, positive affirmations. And I've been intrigued by manifesting so I endeavor to get it right some day. I read a book The Power of The Subconscious Mind. It was good and had ideas that really attracted me. Id like to know more information in that stream.
