On my own
So being alone your whole life is boring as ***. But when you get adapted and used to having no friends it becomes very hard to meet new people. Even get out of the house sometimes. How can someone make friends anonymously maybe? It just feels so heavy to breathe right now.
@LucindaIvar I am sorry to hear you feel lonely and finding it challenging to make friends. It makes sense that feeling isolated for a long time can make it harder to connect with others. Would you share what has stopped you from going out lately?
Hi Lucinda,
I used to be in your shoes... growing up, I was a lone wolf — had little to no friends at many points in my youth. Then in college, I made a lot of friends, but got burnout and not all of my friendships were necessarily healthy...
Later in life, I ended ip with agoraphobia due to dealing with traumatic events that left me closed to being unalive by someone I trusted...along with some other scary experiences.
So...I have opted to make only online friends. I'm making friends based on hobbies (ex. Language learning, writing, fitness, technology, art, etc), and I find apps or websites that have to do with those specific things. Right now, I'm using a penpal app to meet people from around the world. On the app, you can make a lil avatar, no photo required.
I'm anonymous online while making friends. I dont have to leave my house for it nor show my face. I prefer online for now, until I feel more safe to make friends in real life who don't want to cause me any physical harm or anything like that...
I wish you luck on your journey! ✨
