Painfully different than other people

anyone else feel depressed around other people because your life seems so awful and different? Just hearing my coworkers chatting about their daily routines and activities I feel depressed. I’m just trying to survive- juggling appointments for therapy, new EMDR and trying to start Esketsmine infusions to keep myself alive. I feel like they have real lives-“normal” lives and it hurts me to see how small, and negative my life is in comparison. I don’t feel like a real person, if that makes any sense.

anyone else felt this way? I’m starting on this app hope it will help me feel less different and alone.

@MK25meg welcome to cups sweetie ❤❤ I'm lola, I've never felt like I fitted in anywhere, my life is also different from normal. And how many times I wish I could be like other people! But we are who we are, life is not a race and we are not in competition with anyone else. You just need a bit of support and kindness, to see that your uniqueness, is what makes you beautiful ❤ you've came to the right place, this is the only place I've ever felt accepted and loved, for being me. And I'm sure you will too, soon. Gives you a giant tiny hug ❤❤ welcome to our cups family ❤

When you go the extra mile to be there for someone who seems "normal," you might be surprised by their internal life.  Try not to judge a book by its cover.

I am a weirdo, but on paper, I look very normal.

I think what you’re experiencing is very normal. I have similar thoughts at work. It feels like my life is abnormal compared to others.

Hey there,

I feel what you mean on so many level...

When at work, people are laughing and i think "wow must be nice to be able to laugh like that", and they seem to enjoy simple things, and i just can't. That makes me jealous. I do wish sometimes that my life were normal like theirs. That i could smile and laugh like they do, or have energy and enthusiasm like them to go out and do things. And because it's hard for me to do any of that i feel like i'm not living to my fullest, or barely living. Or my life isn't normal, that i'm not normal. I mean...

It's just difficult isn't it?

I don't want to be seen as gloomy and depressing person. Because then i feel like no one would want to be around me. So i try my best to put on a pleasant face... but inside, i know that it's not me, and it's all fake. I wish someone would love me as me, so that i don't have to fake anything and not feel left out and lonely.

@MK25meg sounds like comparison. Like some negative thinking.
