I'm new here. I'm not quite sure what to say on here, but man these last couple months have been difficult. I just can't seem to snap out of my depression. I'm going to work and that's about all I can do. I can't shower, brush my teeth, or be around my family anymore. I just want to isolate in my room and scroll on my phone endlessly.

@searnold Thank you for reaching out. Depression can feel so heavy and lonely. You have been having trouble showering, brushing your teeth, and being around your family. What has caused this depression?

@searnold I hear you, depression can hit so hard at anytime. Hopefully this site will help you ❤ it's ok to have these days, weeks even months. But if it continues and becomes a worry. Please contact your doctor. Could need to switch around your meds if your taking any. Otherwise all you can do is try your best, little steps at a time. And try to find enjoyment in the little things. Like hobbies or things your interested in. Welcome to cups ❤ gives you a giant tiny hug ❤

I’m sorry. 😔

i can relate to just doing the minimal to be able to go to work. I have had to force myself at times to shower and take care of myself so I’m presentable at work. It’s not easy. Sometimes doing the minimal is really all we can do.

Maybe start writing down everything “as a win.” I try to have that mindset—if I leave the house today—that’s a win. 😊
