Hi guys, I've been wanting to study abroad since I was like 9 and my parents knew this so things changed when I didn't pass my high school with grades my parents "wanted" but when I told them to allow me to go and study in China and do Medicine and they immediately refused without giving me any reason.

Now they are willing to pay for my little sisters school fees which costs a fortune and mind you I only needed $1000, my sisters fees are more than that.

Lately I've been wanting to run away from home because they don't even treat me like family nowadays, like they be ignoring me as if I don't exist

I really want to run away but I just don't want them to hate or disown me😥

@dapperTortoise4811 hey there, it sounds like you're in a really tough spot, and it's understandable you're feeling overwhelmed and wanting to run away. It's painful when your dreams feel impossible, especially when family support is lacking. It's especially hurtful that your parents are investing heavily in your sister's education while denying you a relatively small sum for your dream of studying medicine in China. Feeling ignored and like you don't exist within your family adds to the pain. 💔

Thinking about running away is natural given the circumstances. However, it's a big decision with its own challenges. Before you do, let's explore some other options. You deserve to have your dreams heard! Perhaps try having another calm and open conversation with your parents about your feelings? They might have unexpressed concerns. Explain how their decision impacts you, emphasizing your passion for medicine in China, and show them you're resourceful by researching scholarships or financial aid.

Consider talking to a trusted adult outside your family, like a counselor, teacher, or family friend, who can offer a different perspective or mediate a conversation with your parents. Remember, you're not alone. Many face similar challenges, and resources are available. If you're feeling overwhelmed, know people care and want to support you. There are also resources specifically for young people navigating difficult family situations.

Exploring other options first might be beneficial. Ultimately, the decision is yours, but I want to ensure you have all the information and support you need. I'm here to listen without judgment and help you explore those options.
