call for help
hi, i’m new here.
im 17 undiagnosed. i dont really know if i have depression or not. ive never received professional help. ive talked once to a friend and he said that i may have depression since hes diagnosed himself. i cant tell my parents. they didnt believe me when i asked them for help once. so its a mental block preventing me from telling them again.
i hate when people say it gets better. it doesn’t. it hasn’t gotten better ever. everyday it’s a struggle. i don’t remember a time of my life where i didn’t feel this way.
i feel numb. empty. i really don’t know why im doing this. maybe i need someone to tell me im not crazy. to tell me that they believe me. that im not crazy for thinking i have depression. that im not overreacting or being dramatic.
im tired. so very tired.
@pluckyCoconut4376 awww sweetie your definitely not crazy🙁 it does sound like depression, I wonder if there's anyway you can get to a doctor without your parents knowing? Obviously the doctor would be your best option here. And no it doesn't really get better, but along the way with a little help we can learn little things that help us💖 it's not trying to beat it it's more learning to live alongside of it 💖 gives you a giant tiny hug 💗 we are all right here for you 💗
I can hear in your words how exhausted you are, and I want you to know that you’re more overreacting or being dramatic. Feeling the way you do is not a sign that you’re too much.
It is quite frustrating and upsetting to hear that your parents don’t believe you and are not supportive. It can be a major block to getting help when they’re not on board, but I’m glad to see you seeking help here.
I’m not going to say it gets better, but I do hope you give yourself some self-compassion for what you’re going through. You’re going through something incredibly difficult without the support you deserve. You deserve to feel tired and exhausted and to allow yourself to feel like life is hard. It is. Life is hard, but you’re strong enough to seek support, and that says you’re still trying and fighting through it. That’s a lot when everything feels pointless and empty.
