#2
As humans, we sometimes make mistakes or things dont quite go as we are expecting or want them to go. But thats okay!!! Accepting when something doesnt go to plan is a great way of growing as a person and learning to adapt. So...
What is a challenge you faced recently and how did you overcome it?

Answer this question below and remember what animal you have found as you will need this later on.

Hey @RockClimber18
I think the biggest challenge I've face recently is to do with my mental health declining whilst I have to continue my study and revision for exams that are coming up! It's been difficult to try and manage my unhealthy behaviours, whilst needing a way to cope from the stress I am feeling. A lot of my behaviours have been my way to cope for over 6 years now, but now I'm aware of the dangers and how out of control I am when it comes to the behaviours - I am trying to fight off returning back to that place, and letting it get even worse than it is now.
I have tried to overcome this in many ways, one of the main ones being asking for support from different mental health professionals. I know that I am not able to always keep myself safe at the moment, so when I'm feeling that my thoughts have heightened to that level, I will ring the number my doctor gave me and get support through them. It has helped me so much with managing my thoughts, and making sure not to do anything unhealthy - but also allows me to be able to revise as much as I can, during the times I'm feeling okay.
What are some of the challenges you've faced recently?
@emsworld
Hmm.... my challenges have been massive things for me which im not sure i should admit to
I've been doing my dream job for the past year but i found out that they can't afford to keep me on after my course finishes in a few weeks so yeah, i've lost my job. Finding a new job is seeming impossible really because there arent any jobs going that i am passionate about. The stress of all this as well as my course finishing soon with so much work left to complete has made my mental health spiral quite a bit which has meant i have resorted back to really unhealthy coping methods again. Then on top of all of this, because there have been so many changes, it has affected my autism because there hasnt been the consistency i need.
Ways i've been trying to help this is..
Job hunting when i have time, focussing more on my personal life rather than spending every waking hour where im not at work on here
. I also had a chat with my mum about jobs and she has kinda agreed to me applying for a job i am interested in but it would mean residential living away which im not too sure about. Also when i have needed to use unhealthy coping methods, i have tried to talk to someone on here (from my member account) and get help first. I've also been working on trying to understand my own feelings which is something i struggle with because of being autistic so i can recognise how i am feeling before it gets overwhelming.
Even though i have had lots of challenges recently, a massive positive has been creating this event which has been really fun

Not really a challenge maybe, but I perceive it to be so here goes. I have had a difficult time accepting some shocking medical results since around a month now, and then most recently not being able to join the new semester right away with my peers has been challenging. But I have supportive friends and I've worked out how much I've missed. It is difficult always when you are quite unique to your peers and have different challenges, but overcoming it by reflecting and accepting plus dedicating time on here really helps me.
@SoulfullyAButterfly
im sorry to hear your medical results were challenging and you couldnt start the semester with your peers, that must be difficult for you. Im sure you will be able to catch up though and its lovely to hear you have supportive friends around you
@RockClimber18 - Thank you!
Sometimes I feel I am challenged in situations where I am stressed, anxious and worried and there are a thousand things I could do in reaction to this that would make the situation worse for myself and also for others. Sometimes there is strength in doing nothing, in silence, in listening. Sometimes doing nothing and knowing you did not do those one thousand things wrong that you could have done is enough. Sometimes you just need to get out of the way and let it happen.

The biggest challenge I have recently been faced with is maintaining "no contact" with ex-fiance. He has tried multiple ways to get to me so i changed my number & informed all family members & neighbors about the ordeal. Been depressed & lonely at times as this (being single) is still quite new. But I'm getting to know myself again & have been more active on the 7Cups site which has been a tremendous help!
