@Laura

I have been living with depression for over ten years. I have made it this far, and I plan to make it further.

5 years, all thanks to circumstances and events that have happened.

everything I wanted, everything I desired, the life/future I wanted became everything I lost the last 5 years :(

my buddy Bandit (tuxedo cat), the group of friends I helped form, my best friends (they now shun me and likely even hate me), my career (cant even get my foot in the door), a life with someone my heart wants/wanted/that I get to choose (my flaws outweigh my positives, was hopeless from the start), to be able to enjoy the things I love with friends.

My friends find me insufferable to be around, my (ex) best friends treat me as if I were dead, they assume the worst about me, everything I love I am forced to enjoy alone, and I essentially get 0 say in my life anymore. My career is looking bleak and I already know who Ill be spending the rest of my life with (no one).

These all fuel it and most are also at the same time consequences of it too. A vicious cycle, like a nightmare I can never wake up from.

Despite this, my cats, my family, my friends, and especially being at the amusement park counter it significantly which really helps.

12 years. Started in 10th grade. It's been a rollercoaster.

Ive been dealing with depression for 6 years now. It hit me hard, I isolated myself from all of my friends and family and gained nearly 30lbs from sleeping all day and binge eating. I dropped out of college and almost got fired from my job. It took a lot of courage to pull myself out that hole and with big help of my best friend, my mother and siblings I was able to. But every now and then I feel myself getting pulled back into that hole, especially when life gets stressful like now. Its been two weeks of poor eating habits and lots and lots of sleeping. But today I finally had the strength to take my butt to the gym and go outside, cook a meal and I feel a little better. I deleted all social media and joined a group chat today too. I want help. My family and friends support system is not enough.

I have been depressed for as long as I can remember. I was praying for a terminal illness by first or second grade.

It's been 8 years for me, since I was a high school freshman to being 22. Sometimes I wonder if it was caused by medication I was taking for my illness, being around an abusive father, genetics, stress...I suppose it comes from the mass of everything combined, doesn't it? 🤔

9 - 10 years.

Some days are better than others. There was a few months period where I was doing so good depression and anxiety were stepping back, unable to stop me from accepting how I'm feeling and getting things done anyway.

Edit: Those were some of the best few months of my life

For over 10 years. Things weren't great starting from when I was 9 but they got worse when I was 12 and I'm 22 now.

diagnosed - around three years, undiagnosed - around five years

I'd say I've been living undiagnosed for seven years. It started in high school and progressively got worse over the years.
