One thing that is contributing to my depression is....
Me. Being literally any other human being would be better.
@tluper6491 can you tell me/us a bit more about yourself. I think it's really important to try and find something to be grateful for. Comparing yourself to others or wirshing to be someone else will just cause more anxiety and pressure and depression.
@DontCensorFreeSpeechPls
I'm grateful for a lot of things, it's me who sucks. I'm a worthless hopeless crippled failure idiot with no past or future and no value whatsoever. I can't help but compare myself to others because I'm a useless failure with no chance of improvement except death. I can't work, I can't drive, I'm trapped in a shitty farm town, I have no friends, never had a romantic partner of any kind. I'm a complete and total loser on every level because of a disease I can't do anything to change. My youth is being wasted and that wouldn't be so bad if I had anything resembling a future to look forward to. I made a true friend on this site who I became extremely close to and could tell anything, but now their account is gone (for the second time so at least I know they'll probably come back at some point) and I can't tell anybody anything. So yeah, being anybody else on the planet would be a huge improvement. All my problems are my own fault. I have no reason to be grateful to myself, I don't deserve to be happy and I never will be until it's over or I can somehow magically swap bodies with literally any other lifeform.
I don't feel comfortable getting into more personal details publicly like this so I'm sorry if this doesn't actually tell you anything. I'm also the stupidest person to ever live so I'm sure this is a bunch of nonsensical garbage anyway like everything I say. I don't believe this is the case for most depressed people but in my case the world actually would be better without me.
@tluper6491 I hope you find more contentment in time. It's quite dishertening reading how you degrade yourself, but I will say though that each one of us are destined to be happy no matter who you are, where you're from you can achieve a lot of amazing things. But you need to realize your worth first, no one is gonna hand it over to you. Until that there's a lot of struggle. Try to be around more positive people and nature, we're so digitalized and connected yet so disconnected from what truly matters. Listen to Kacey Musgrave's ''Rainbow'', it reminded me of your particular case when I heard it again.
One thing that is contributing to my depression is my habit of comparing myself to other people
school
The fear of what may be...chrobophobia, that keeps me forever stuck in the past woth major depression...
This site is now completely useless. I can't contact somebody deeply important to me privately and now I can't even make a public thread talking to her because I can't see my followers anymore so I can't find her acocunt. Now the only option is screaming into the abyss. The site has been ruined.
My new life is hard to get used to. Miss my old life.
My dog passed very recently. On Monday we had to put him down and he has always been there for me. Now I feel alone.
@rootshawshoot I'm so, so sorry. I felt this way when my childhood cat was put down. She was so empathetic and kind. I hope you find comfort in knowing that your dog was lucky to have you as a friend in life.
@rootshawshoot
Im so sorry, hope you feel better soon @rootshawshoot
@rootshawshoot
even just having a foster dog or cat can help because that's what we did after my childhood cat died and it really helped
Not being free to be me. Being forced to be the way others think I must be and having it be the way others demand. It makes living true agony. For all of me.
Not being able to be myself by my family
Having to download a fucking app so some faceless person behind a screen can tell me why I shouldnt (deleted word)it all tonight at 9:00 pm. I want to be treated like a person, not a patient
@Someone624 Honestly, I feel the same exact way.... my husband doesnt get it (which is not his fault) and he is the only person I really have in my life. I came on here just today and I feel weirdly embarrassed about it. I heard about it on an NPR segment and after hours of debate got on here. I am really looking for a place to connect to people, not be asked and how does that make you feel?
@Someone624
I am just a newbie but I do understand.
@Someone624 but we're both still here on this app aren't we? If you'd rather have a person with a face behind the app, then we can talk.
