So come along, post your name/username, your age, a hobby, one random fact about you and anything you like! If you want, maybe a little background regarding your depression?
NB. You are under no obligation to have to post any of the aforementioned, do whatever you are comfortable with, okay? You're amazingly strong, sweet pea.
Let's all find a friend!
Hi people
Hey @Candybeanscandyfloss! how's life?
@IsaboeOfLumatere it's good you?
I am Mellie and 33. Friends are fun :)
@Mellietronx Hey Mellie :)
Just wondering, any romanians here?
Hi, I'm R. I'm 18 and from Finland. There is nothing interesting about me other than I'm pan and like cats. I have no hopes or plans for the future
@BrainDeadMetalHead Hi R, I know the feeling of nothing to hope for or live for, just wanted to let you know you are not alone. I am in the United States. K :)
Hi, I'm 23, married, and almost finished with college. I'm looking for a friend. =)
@Mmidl
Hi, I'm 25 and just starting college lol. I could use a friend too
@Brooke91
Hey! That's awesome. 😆 Do you know what you're going to be studying yet?
@Mmidl
Right now I'm taking all the boring prerequisites for nursing, but I'm also interested in finance. I'm gonna dabble in that next semester and see if I like that any better. I have OCD thinking which triggers my depression, so unfortunately it's really been affecting my grades. I had to drop 2 if my classes. I just got officially diagnosed with it and started medication to treat it. Wish me better luck next semester : / how bout you?
@Brooke91
Nursing is fantastic! My little sister is studying to be a midwife and certified nurse. 😆 The prerequisites are never any fun, but you've got plenty of time to dabble in other areas with your electives. I'm sorry to hear that you had to drop classes. Have you talked to your advisor about a schedule that will fit what you need? I have OCD, and it made writing my higher level papers a nightmare. I kept staying up all night two days before it was do so I wouldn't have time to edit. 😅 But, I have my associate's in special education, and I'm finishing a psychology degree (I'm focusing on research instead of clinicals).
@Mmidl
Yeah, I made my schedule with an advisor, but my depression is what is impacting my classes and that's why I had to drop two of them. You're very lucky you were able to manage while being able to go to school.
@Brooke91
Well, I had some pretty good advisors who understood that my OCD and anxiety impacted my schooling. They helped me make schedules that spread the more stressful classes out over different semesters and they always recommend professors that are more understanding. Have you gone to the health department at your college and talked to anyone there? They can be a big help in all of this too.
@Mmidl
I'm not sure there is a health department at my school because it's just community college, but even super easy classes I slack in. I just have to wait for my medication to work. Thanks for trying to be helpful though.
@Brooke91
Every school has a disability resources center at the very least. They could have some information, or someone you can talk to about classes. But, it's no problem! 😆 I just want you to succeed at college. I know it's tough, and seems like it never ends.
Hi everyone, Goodmorning,
I want to share with you all something. I have also had depression. And it was hhelllll for me. Recovery from it was tuff. I never knew what to do cause I felt really helpless. I kept asking others for help, tried to keep myself distracted in other stuffs but it never proved to be sufficient. Then one day I realized that its me who can help myself the best, cause only myself knows me the best. Then one day a friend recommended me this book.

and it has helped me a lot lot in my life. A complete change has happened in my life. I can easily stay away from depression. All that was necessary was to change my thoughts, which is a solution difficult to see when we are deppressed. I am not advertising. I am only trying to help, sharing what has helped me.
Hello everyone! I love making friends! So if you need one, feel free to talk to me 😉
Hi
Hey I'm Andie (andonymousse) and I'm 22, about to graduate college which has been a difficult road for me. So yay! I like music and play the cello and mountain dulcimer. Interested in getting to know more of you!
@andonymousse
Hallo Andie. Congratulations on the graduation. I love music (except I can't play anything). You seem very interesting. How're you doing?
