Finding Happiness 😊
1. Find joy in the little things
The simplest of things can increase your happiness and up your mood mood greatly. Enjoy the presence of your favourite people, appreciate the sun and rain, watch the clouds and bathe in the peace. Don't take all the little things for granted, because they mould your happiness together.
2. Spend more time with people
Being with the people who mean the most to you is bound to make you happy. Even if it's just a text, call, 5 minute chat or stopping to say hi in the street, it could bring up happy memories or encourage you to reconnect with them.
3. Focus on your passion
Find and focus on your biggest passion and fit it into your daily routine or even make it your career. If you're passionate about what your job is, it won't feel like work.
4. Choose to be positive
Try to encourage yourself to see the positive in as many situations as possible. A positive attitude will give you a positive mind.
5. Be good to yourself
Give yourself a compliment or two a day. Start on something small, e.g. the colour of your eyes, your finger nails, the tone of your cheeks, and eventually make the compliments bigger until you're complimenting every part of you. Also, eat healthier and exercise. A healthy body equals a healthy mind.
6. Go outside
Going outside greatly increases your positivity, especially when you're peacefully walking through nature or taking a swim in the ocean. You can simply walk through a nature trail with earphones in, alone or with others, maybe even take your dog on a walk if you have one.
7. Have a sufficient amount of sleep
Remember to get your beauty sleep. Lack of sleep creates so many negative side effects that affect you physically and mentally. Also, having enough sleep will give you more energy and help you work harder at school or work, so you'll feel better about your productivity.
8. Get a pet
If you don't already have a pet, they are amazing companions. Due to bonding, they can sense your emotions and love you till the end of time. When you're feeling down you can spend time with them, play with them, give them baths, take them on walks, etc. and create a friendship between you two.
9. Cut out negative things
If a friend gets you down or a family member is constantly criticising you, cut them out. It doesn't have to be forever, it could be a few days, weeks or months, or forever if it's that bad. No one has a right to put you down on purpose and if talking to them and explaining it to them doesn't work, they don't deserve your company if they're going to cause unhappiness.
10. Meditate
Meditating relaxes your mind and body and helps you understand and accept yourself. DO NOT meditate for more than 10 minutes the first time you do it, it can possibly put you into a negatively psychological trance which can seriously mess with your mental health, so do 5 minutes of meditation daily and after a couple months you'll be doing half an hour meditation a day and it'll help, a lot, over time.
