@lordanxiety
Welcome to 7 cups π
I think everything has a purpose and a point in our world, it's just upto us to see it. Just like on those nature documentaries, you see some very unusual and tiny creatures that seem to live a pointless existence but every creature on the planet has a purpose and is involved in the elaborate cycle of nature. π It's harder to see the point of things and experience gratefulness if you're experiencing depression, but it's possible to train our minds to see that life isn't pointless. π
Hi @SilentSerenityy
Thank you, but we're all gonna die anyway, right? Why bother putting so much effort in anything, in the end, none of it matters.
I wanna die so much right now haha π
@lordanxiety
I can see what you're saying but that's like saying what's the point in appreciating the beauty of a flower when it's going to die in the end. The flower has a purpose and beauty, just like you do. Even when the flower has died, it leaves remnants of itself as nutrients for the soil and those nutrients are used to create further flowers and plants. By that I mean, you can leave a positive legacy behind, you could make a difference in the lives of others so that even when you're gone, there's a piece of you still left behind. Even if that doesn't happen, living life how you want and for your own enjoyment is most important. Everything has to come to an end, doesn't mean you can't enjoy it as much as you can whilst it's still around.
I can tell that you may be experiencing depression and that definitely puts a negative and gloomy filter on your view of the world. It's just a case of getting help to remove that filter and so I hope you are speaking to a professional about how you're feeling and possibly people close to you. It is possible to recover from depression, it's just hard to see that as a possibility when depression is making you view everything so negatively, but I can assure you, it's possible. You may find our depression and hope self help guides beneficial to look over when you have the time.
If you're seriously considering suicide, I would recommend visiting suicide.org and speaking to someone there who is trained to assist. 7Cups isn't a crisis resource, we can only offer emotional support. β₯
