How to find your triggers?

Okay, so I have/had depression, but I honestly don't know what my triggers are. I have only cut once, but I'm not talking about self harm triggers. I'm talking more specifically what are my depression triggers and how do I find them?

I know I get depressed if I hear someone talking about depression, even if it's just a therapist or someone talking about how to cope with depression, I still get slightly depressed by that, but I wouldn't really call that a "trigger" for me.

So, how do I find out my triggers and what does it exactly have to do for it to be a trigger?

I suffer from BPD ( borderline personality disorder )... I find that certain people and certain words set off my triggers .. The way to find out is to pay attention to how you feel after certain words or things that are done towards you that instantly make you feel depressed .. I'm so sensitive to foods the weather or if I got enough sleep the night before .. Maybe that could help you out ..

Hi @starryeyedprincess

One of the things that I need to be cogniscent of for myself is my moods and to catch them if they're starting to spiral downwards. Utlimately, triggers and anxiety are the root causes. For triggers, I found that keeping notes of when something triggered me really helped me to isolate what it was that triggered me.
