Is this depression or just sadness?
Almost a week ago, I couldn't eat nor sleep for 2 days (Feb. 13th-14th). Then on the next day, I cried in the bathroom, out of nowhere, as I was getting ready to start my day. I called out of work for the first time in the years I've been there and didn't want to get out of the house. I called a friend to see if he wanted to "have lunch" that day, which we ended up eating lunch at his place but I didn't feel like eating. So we talked and again, I cried. Told him I felt this big weight on my shoulder and that I felt empty and had certain thoughts every now and then. After he gave me advice, I felt just a little better. I thought maybe this isn't depression but just sadness/stress of feeling alone and having so much to do with school, work, and life in general.
Today, I felt that same feeling. That this big weight on my shoulder came back and i can't lift it up, I can't eat, working out or running makes me feel somewhat better. I also feel that I'm stuck in one place while everyone around me is moving on and i can't take it anymore. I cried just thinking about all of that. I'm the type of person that people would think "oh she has a good life and is hardworking, never sad" when they look at me, but i'm the complete opposite on the inside. So I just need to know if this is actually depression or is it sadness/stress that will go away. I want to give it a couple of weeks before I decide anything.
Sorry you're feeling this bad. When I was depressed I wasn't enthusiastic about anything and it was hard tfor me to begin things. I lost interests in the things I liked. So better check that out. Go to a doctor if you need to. Self-care is important in all this. Hope it will help you the signs that I wrote about. Stay strong. =)
1. I am no expert or professional. But have been through more or less same situations where I feel falling behind. Everyone says and believes I am happy and cheery but some things were eating me up from inside.
2. The cure? solution? to accept and start doing what we CAN, without expectations for some days. When you feel better then put certain goals, targets and expectations. You still can do ur best without pressure and anxiety.!
3. Not eating and not sleeping - try to avoid health blunders, these things will worse the conditions not help you...
4. Crying is very natural emotion, do not feel bad about that ever. world needs less so called strong ppl than authentic ones and expressing their true emotions. It is good that you are not being numb, Now I want my reward as your smile! :)
Last, yes loneliness. It is. Self doubt also, and you gotta love and accept everything of you, slowly but steadily you will find and create urself. This is like destruction of ur old thought patterns and feelings, to make space for new ones, fresh ones with this spring. No I am not being cheesy, I am also female and know that when we get on ride of emotions, it is lil tricky to come down and believe we are best, with teary eyes and breaking heart and spinning head! But I believe in all those who ever felt worst and rose up again to win the life.
Lots of love and bear hugs! Come baby, the destiny is calling.
