Im sad that I dont know whether me and my mom will have a healthy relationship again, she is very religious and feels that she failed me because I dont believe in anything divine.

My mom can put up with her boyfriend's constant negativity and bs and criticism for almost a decade, but after 23 years of me being a good, quiet, hard-working daughter, I go through four months of illness and discomfort and health anxiety and depression and start crying more and begging for sympathy, telling her I can't comfortably breathe or eat or drink or think... and she starts getting testy and impatient and shrill with me when we're in the car on the way to church. But then she goes into church and she happily sits down next to her boyfriend and holds his hand.

She just came into my room and talked to me after I'd been crying for half an hour. And I think she listened to me a little more, but she also said "can we agree to do more to [be nice to each other/etc]" which is valid in some cases but in this case feels like the ol' "I don't care who started it" mindset. And I just feel like she'll forget what we talked about and continue to be testy. I know she's overwhelmed, but so am I. And mentally and physically I'd really like to say in my own defense, even more so.

@CarolineFCY I hope it doesn't ruin the relationship you and your mom have.You can pray for her to get an understanding of what you're going through.But also having time to talk to her to iron out what both of you are keeping hidden.It may do a whole lot of good than harm

@amicableOrange650 Thank you, I think a prayer like that might actually calm me. It's the closest thing to meditation I'm slightly good at, after all. It really would help if we had a few more conversations like the one just a while ago -- we unearthed one tender spot, at least. ^^

I don't know whether one day I'll be able to achieve my dreams because I'm struggling so much and always on the brink of giving up.I don't even have an idea of what's kept me going this far

@amicableOrange650 Speaking of unearthing, something must've kept you going this far and it might be wise to do some self-digging for it. It might be something as simple as hope (that's what got a good friend of mine through a lot of terrible times). It might be living to love and grace others. It might be the idea of your own place and a therapy pet on your lap.

If you haven't made your dreams come true yet, that's just fine and (I'd even argue) normal. When I was a kid, I thought I'd be publishing a book at 17 or 20. So far, I've published... a fanfic, online. But I am proud of it. Little things, little wins, they're worth accumulating. You're here, so I don't think you've given up yet. That's awesome. yes

@CarolineFCY I don't know if I have the strength anymore. It's like life is playing a game of chess with me,anytime I aim for the win it all crumbles down.How long do trials have to last for one to get over it.

@amicableOrange650 Will Turner's voice comes to mind: "At least one day more, AmicableOrange. As always." (although that kinda sounds more like Les Mis). During my current trial, I've had a family friend tell me "Just take it one day at a time." And my older sister, who has been through some awful stuff but has been so understanding and supportive, kept assuring me, "It won't last forever." I know how many people and things have pelted down on her and I know she's happy now, so I trust her. I think you can reach the point she's at too, and win at least a few rounds.

@CarolineFCY Thanks for that, "It won't last forever" is so assuring that at least there will be times to feel it's worth it. And living one day at a time and focussing on the present is more important than looking and thinking about what the future holds

My friends and family don't support my long distance relationship even after we are together for 2 years. I am sad that no one believes that Uni is so stressful and that it makes me feel bad about myself

@Unicornsurvivor

If it helps anything, I believe that uni is very stressful and makes you feel bad about yourself. And I'm so sorry that it does.

Just don't forget, you're a beautiful person and, the way you make it sound, you have a beautiful relationship too. Two years, long distance, and you're still together? What a feat, very admirable!

Just hang in there, we're all here for you if you need to talk. heart

@Unicornsurvivor Just keep prooving them wrong, they'll see eventually. They should support your choices and whatever makes you happy.

I was also in a distance relationship for almost 3 years i struggled with my emotions everyday cause there was nothing i could do about seeing eachother, there was also a day when we "broke up", it broke my heart thus we didnt see us even once but it was still very painful and ended up with a suicidal attempt. When the day came for us to meet cause i was on my way to a place near her she just said she is too scared to meet me and on the next day i stopped texting her cause there was no point anymore. Im not trying to bring you down or something, just sharing my story, remember to not give up cause its WORTH it when the other person is somebody you think he is.

Best of luck for you both, and dont mind your parents you are the one that decides.

@PureOak I am so sorry. One parent's death alone is difficult to go through, now you're bracing yourself for a second. It's like getting hit with two consecutive harsh waves without barely getting a breath in. Wishing you some happiness and peace to at least smooth/even it out.

@Coltonisvalid That sounds really painful. You deserve to be the best and truest you without judgment or fear, and I deeply hope you get that someday. Props to you for doing what you can in a constricting environment.

@Bloom97

Don't you feel guilty about that please. You feel what you feel, and you can't help that (so I guess asking you not to feel guilty is pretty stupid, huh, oops). Practise a little self-care, because I feel like you can use it right now. And maybe, ask other people for help? Then they can help you to improve the overall mood, together smiley
