I'm 32. When I was a child I had health issues, and as a result when I was a teenager the idea of me dating was something of a joke to the other students in college. It also meant I struggled to find a job. Eventually I got a job, but I worked from home. I volunteered to try to meet more people, but I never met anyone close to my age. I started studying online, and I had surgery to fix some of the problems my earlier health problems had caused. Now I am in the second year of an undergraduate degree. I have never been on a date and I really want to experience this part of life but I am living in a very small town where most people are students aged 17-21. I will be another two years before I graduate, and I'm really tired of being on my own. I've learnt everything I can about who I am alone, and I don't feel I can develop any further emotionally without the opportunity to experience a relationship, and I'm bored and frustrated. Almost all of my school friends are married. I'm doing well at uni (got an A in both modules last semester) but it just feels like an empty achievement because it really doesn't matter. I just want to be with someone and share life for a while now.

So what are you asking exactly? Is it that you want someone to go out with and so you are asking us to go out with you? Because if so I want you to know that we are all on here for a reason. We have problems that cause us to not be able to think straight. I don't want you to get hurt. I am dating a guy (I'm 14 he is 15) online and he is mentally abuseiveit sucks but I can't stop thinking about him bc he makes me feel special. I love him but it is making things worse for me. I am not saying that will happen to you but I am saying plsbe careful.

I think what you need is a friend not a bf or a husband. Girl you are special you don't need a husband to be better bcnothing can make you better than you already are. Friends help a lot try taking a trip to somewhere close but not in town try making friends there. It will help I promise.

I can certainly relate to your current dilemma. I'd had health problems from birth, which required a lot of interventions and surgeries. It was hard for me to physically keep up with my peers, and most of my teenage years were spent coping with school and severe health issues, so I didn't have a chance to date, nor would anyone at that age have had the maturity to cope with my limitations. I understand what it is like to long to share your experiences with someone else; to have someone who really sees you, accepts and loves you, and who chooses you. I am actually grateful now that early preoccupations with health issues prevented me from dating too young, before I understood who I was and where my life was taking me. I am married now, having met my husband on an Internet dating site. I've never had my heart broken and I've never been jaded by past failed relationships. In many ways, my health struggles protected me from a lot of worldly pain. Internet dating might also be a good option for you - allow you to access a larger dating pool with more opportunities to find someone who would be a suitable partner for you. I know lots of people who have had success this way. As a final note, it's great that you are going to school and bettering your future prospects, with or without a partner. That speaks volumes to your determination and character, and I'm sure that the man you someday meet (and maybe marry) will appreciate your education and experience.
