Struggling with my mental health

I’m trying my best but I’m not getting anywhere I told everyone that matters how I feel they are aware and are trying their best for me and I appreciate them so much but I still feel alone and empty. I’m still trying I can’t find professional help I took the steps to find help but I still can’t get it. I have extreme dreams and thoughts I won’t act on them for my friends sake buts it’s really hard most days I wake and immediately my depression hits. I’m really trying but nothing is helping no one can help me and I feel weak and tired and defeated which feeds into the cycle and I end up back here my friends all at one point have had depression but what they describe and how I feel are completely different like I just can’t get over it it’s not as easy as get over it I don’t know what to do and the alternate option scared me

thanks for listening

I can see that you care for those around you. You are also very brave that you atleast tried to seek help, it's ok, stay strong for those lovely friends of yours. You can msg me if u want to talk about it but I can be pretty awkward sometimes...

@placidOcean4314 I can relate to your experience. I also struggle with depression and waking up to a new day with depression each morning is so hard to go through. I'm sorry you have not been able to find the professional help you need so far. Some things my therapist has taught me that have helped for me personally are to make and follow a plan with timestamps for each day; to express my feelings through writing, music, art, or exercise; and to challenge negative thoughts. And also that instead of waiting until I feel like doing something before I do it, to just start doing it and that I will probably start to feel like doing it after I have started. Of course, everyone is different and these things may work for you or not at all. I hope you can find some relief and feel less alone by talking to people on 7cups.

I am sorry that you are struggling so much. It can be a real battle sometimes but you are fighting a good fight. Know how brave you are just to keep trying.

What is making finding some outside help so difficult? Maybe we can brainstorm a solution. You do deserve to feel better.

I totally get that. It can be hard being in that in between spot. But a new job sounds like a good start. Focusing on that for a bit might help. What kind of job is it?@placidOcean4314

That sounds like a good position and starting in the new year will be nice for starting fresh. What kinds of things are you doing now to occupy your time until you start there?@placidOcean4314

1st off, please thank and appreciate yourself for having the strength, sensibility and logical mindset to address the issue head on instead of just trying to avoid it, suppress it …or whatever other nonsense less logical people try to do.

I recently went through a thing that has put me in a very similar place as what you have described.
“Talk about it” they say. But it’s like yeah, okay, sure, but how many people do I need to talk to? How many times do I have to keep talking about it? What if they have hard things going on that they need to talk about too? So now I’m talking to strangers on the internet & have a ridiculous user name.
“Meditate and do yoga” they say. Okay, yeah, it took a while to get into it, been going for a while. It is graaaaaaadually helping. I get impatient, stop and start again sometimes. So I’m one of those people that meditates and does yoga now and there’s a part of me that’s like “ugh, that’s so woo-woo crunchy,” and then there’s the part of me that’s like “well actually, <adjusts glasses> all of these scientific studies indicate that they are highly effective and therefore highly logical activities to pursue.” But it is so so gradual, you have to constantly remind yourself that it is a long-term investment kind of thing.
“In the meantime, just take some pills” they say. So okay, if my body suddenly starts acting like it thinks it is getting chased by wolves for absolutely no reason what-so-ever and the meditation breathing stuff isn’t enough, there’s that. I don’t like it, but it is better than being locked in fight/flight mode for hours on end because that drains so much energy it is insanely exhausting.Been trying to figure out why it seems worse in the morning so looked it up and read a thing about cortisol levels… so now I blame those instead of myself. hehe

I wish there was a quicker way through this, but I guess this is one of those things that is about the journey and not just the destination. I just hope that we all reach our own inner realms of peace & contentment soon.

@placidOcean4314 I feel this way, too. I wish I had advice to give. I guess I'll check out what other people say in the hopes that it'll help me, too.

Best of luck <3
