Overwhelmed with the past

My mind won't turn off especially at work.  It repeats sad memories and when I'm working my mind gets busier and I think more.  When the music gets louder I become more negative and depressed at work.  It's tough to imagine this but I live paycheck to paycheck and almost don't want to work yet I'm stuck and no money to eat if I don't work.

How do I become more positive?

It is common for us to replay bad past memories in our mind. Once you start that habit, that is what comes easiest. Could you read some positive quotes/materials and start replaying those in your mind instead? And, if you could start having  conversations with some of the Listeners here, it might help you to work through some of those negative thoughts.

There are tools that can help.

Gratitude apps for phone, growth path exercises on 7 cups, books.

Do you think it’s more about the habits of revisiting sad events, or the event are coming back because of how traumatic they were?
