Please Help.
Over the past two months, I was diagonsed with genetic depression. I've talked about it with my dad, my boyfriend and a few friends, who're all very supportive. I've had depression for 3-5 years, without knowing what it was. This is my only year I've known.
Things I'm having trouble with:
~ An out-of-body experience. Someone will ask me something, or talk to me, and call me by name. Yes, I know my name is Hanna, but I don't feel like I'm there. I don't feel like I'm in the situation, nor talking to them.
~ I can't feel my emotions. Everything feels blank, except fear, anger and sadness. I have a black box in my chest that won't disappear.
If anyone is dealing with these problems, or know how to feel like I'm in my own body again, please reply or message me.

The best thing you can do to feel like you're in your body is to do things you enjoy. Even if you don't feel the joy anymre it's important to keep up some of those practices. Read a book you love, listen to music or a podcast, or make your favoite meal. Practice self care every day, and find someone to talk to; wheter it be a friend, family member, therapist, or even someone on 7 cups :) Things get better when you spend time trying to improve yourself. And many days it will be hard to take care of yourself but even on those days you can care for yourself by remembering there is always hope for you and that your depression isn't a life sentence. If you'd like to talk to someone I'm always here, feel free to pm me.
@1GoodVibes1, how have you been feeling lately? Have you learned any new coping techniques to manage your depression?
Also, just letting you know that I moved your thread from the daily check-ins category to the answers&questions corner within our sub-community.
I hope you're feeling a bit better, lovely. Sending my best wishes to you!
*hugs*
@1GoodVibes1
I have been dealing with depression for over a year now and I can relate to almost everything you said. I have the same out-of-body experiences and have had them for a long time. I talked to my therapist about this and she said that I might have dissociation. She also explained that this is common with people who have had a history of being abused. If I find out any more about this I'll post to this thread. I hope this helps and I wish you the best. *hugs*
Try and do something that you enjoy. It may not help you now but it could help in the long term.
