moving and coping with change

Recently my family unexpectedly moved and it’s been really really difficult on me. I’ve fallen into a depression once again, and it’s the worst it’s been in a very long time. I’m sad and terribly lonely. I dislike my new school. It doesn’t have half of the opportunities that I had at my old one, and the new music program is really lacking. Music is a very important part of my life so that has been one of the hardest parts, because I had to leave my orchestra with a conductor who really positively impacted me. I’ve had to leave my boyfriend and my best friend behind, and I have very few friends outside of them. Im really not excited for school this year anymore. I was feeling so confident last spring and I feel like it’s all just come to a halt. I just don’t know what to do anymore. I feel like I’m really grieving. I’ve been trying really hard to cope with all the changes but I’m having trouble seeing any positives of my move when I feel like my quality of life just has had a complete downward shift. I’m not sure what I’m looking for by posting this. I think I just need to get all my feelings out. And maybe some advice or words of encouragement could help. Anyway if you made it this far thank you for taking the time to read this. I hope everyone else’s days are going better

@Zulia

I am so sorry to hear that you are practically in exile and having a difficult time, all the more that it was not your choice, but your parents'. Are they aware of all the people and activities you left behind and how are they trying to support you? Do you have siblings and how are they faring? Is there any talk of going back to where you were before or were you there because one of your parents was expatriate for a while?

It takes several months to adjust to new surroundings and circumstances. I hope that if you are able to rebuild a social life at least and maybe study music on your own (what instrument do you play?) or through a teacher online might also help. Your grief, in the meantime, is perfectly understandable. Hang in there!
