How I fell back into depression

Hello my name is Abby and I am 23 years old. I was diagnosed with depression and anorexia at 13 years old. I was told by the psychologists that I was having this issues due to my grandmother's death. However, I never told the psychologists that I was constantly experiencing bullying, which occurred all throughout middle and high school. After high school, I ended up recovering from my depression and despite being in an emotionally abusive relationship I was able to repair myself. However, my dad had two strokes last month and ever since then I have been a wreck. He has always been the closest person to me and while I can deal with a lot of things but I truly don't know how to deal with this. I am either constantly crying or I am in a state of emotional numbness. Someone please help me!!!

I'm sorry to hear about your dad, this can be a very difficult time for you. I understand you've been dealing with depression and anorexia since you were 13. And I'm proud of you for being strong despite being bullied and having recovered from an emotionally abusive relationship. I understand you're going through a hard phase and hope you've the support and strength to get through this.

And are you still seeing a psychologist? Do you have a support system like a trusted friend or family member to help you get through this difficult time?

Hi Abby <3 I just came across your post while browsing the forums and I'm sorry to hear you've been through/are going through all that but I just wanted to drop in and offer to talk with you sometime soon if you could use an extra person to talk to about it? If you'd like, you're welcome to set up a time for us to talk here (I just set this up yesterday): joshcrs101395.youcanbook.me/

Sounds like life has been hard on you recently, I'd imagine you're in need of emotional support at the moment, I'm eally glad you've chosen to share your story with us, it takes a lot of courage to open up and you're definitely one step in the right direction. I know it can be hard to open up to our psychologist, as sometimes we might not yet feel as comfortable talking about it. Have you maybe try asking for advice from your psychologist?
