My name is Bobbie! I struggle with anxiety and depression. This pandemic hasn't been easy for me, especially after my mom was diagnosed with early onset alzheimers. Not really sure why I'm here, but if I had to guess it would be to find people who understand mental illness and to know that I'm not alone in this world? I hope everyone is having a decent day ❤

Hi Bobby, I randomly clicked on your post—first one I’ve ever replied to (I’m new to forums). I just wanted to say that I’m sorry about your mom...any kind of dementia is so so hard for all parties involved. Something really beautiful about the mind though is that we never forget music. It’s stored in a different part of the brain. You could come up with a song for your mom to remember (or one she knows) and when she’s further along in illness, you could sing with her or play a CD to trigger some happiness. I really rambled on there, sorry! The only thing you can do to fight dementia is prescribed medicine and exercise, movement every day if possible. It helps the brain. I hope this brought some sort of peace for you. Have a good day :)
