Loneliness

Hey there! I’m not really sure I belong to this community since I don’t think I’m depressed or I’m not sure. Sometimes I feel really lonely and the stupid thing is I can’t really talk to anyone about this since I understand that I’m not lonely - I have close friends and parents who really love me. The problem is I overthink and I’m too sensitive or something Sometimes I’m just talking to a friend, we get distracted on something and I’m waiting till he asks to continue but he doesn’t. And I understand if it happens once but it happens a bunch of times. And it’s hard for me because I’m really empathetic and I always try to make another person feel as comfortable as possible when talking to me. And of course I’m waiting for the same thing. And at moments like this I just persuade myself that I’m not interesting/worthy to other people. That nobody cares what’s happening to me and in my life. And it’s devastating because I know they care and these two thoughts fight with each other. Tell me please if you experience something like that and what you do And have a good day :)

@imaginativePineapple4219

Hey there and welcome. Glad you are here. I am sorry you are going through this. I can tell you are a very kind, compassionate person. I know I don't know your exact situation, but it sounds relatable in pieces to me. For me, I realized that people that feel deeply like me need to take special care and one way I have been learning how to do that is with healthy boundaries. This is some pretty quality info here if you are interested to learn a little more: https://www.7cups.com/boundaries/ and this is a good one too: https://www.7cups.com/how-to-deal-with-loneliness/

Take care of yourself, sending you good vibes 🤗

@imaginativePineapple4219 glad that you are sharing your feelings. I am going through a tough phase. I am finding it hard to come to terms and accept my depressive thoughts. I am going to therapy for last two months. My therapist encourages me a lot but between my weekly sessions I often down moments. I feel like escaping these feelings of dreadfulness by ending my life. I am feeling hopeful gradually but my mental wellbeing is going really slow. I have so far:

1. Maintained journal about my everyday thoughts, triggers, emotional support kit list and talking points for next therapy.
2. Try to keep a structure in everyday. Going outside for small walk feels good.
3. Try to feel the negative feelings like anger, hatred, sadness and then question the origin of these feelings.
4. Cry often.
5. Try to be assertive and look at others with neutral lenses.
6. Keep telling myself that my own wellbeing and the present moment is what matters most.

Still I struggle many days. So far upside is I am feeling this depressive feeling as a sickness and part of me rather than all of me. But I am worried how do I make support system as I feel uneasy and uncomfortable to tell my family about my mental health sturggles. My parents don't believe it and my mom thinks I should just "brush off sadness and be like others."

If anyone can give suggestion about making strong mental health support system outside of family and friends then I am all ears.

@tidyTalker6031 It sounds like you have gained a lot of great tools. That is always a cool thing to see and to share. Those are not easy things to go through or deal with. I can tell you have a lot of strength. Depression is a very tricky and difficult thing to go through. Your feelings are valid and I know it’s real, and I know it’s not something that can be brushed off. Thanks for sharing your experience and your story.

I have found this forum that provides some useful tips to navigate the depression tools and groups out here:

https://www.7cups.com/forum/DepressionSupportCommunity_52/IntroduceyourselftotheDepressionCommunity_1357/TheUltimateGuidetoGettheMostOutofDepressionSupport_224184/

Additionally here is a calendar with group chat schedule and the link to the group chats:

Group Support Chats:

Group Support Chat Schedule:

These are some possible ways if of interest, to connect with and be a part of some support.

I hope this helps.

How has your week been going so far?

Take care

Hello @FlourishingDimensions ! I had a bad depressed day today. My head is hurting from crying. But I am acknowledging it as "emotional heavy lifting". I hope I will be alright. It new for me but I am learning.

@tidyTalker6031 I can tell you have been learning, not only learning but remembering to apply what you are learning... which is key, but also the tricky part (for me anyway) sometimes. I can understand this isn't easy. It sounds like a bit of a rough day for you yesterday. I understand how those days can feel.
