New To The Depresson Support Community? Introduce Yourself Here!
We want to get to know you!
@Laura
Hey, new here. Not sure what to say... Depression sucks. Life is overwhelming. Maybe this will help. 💖
hi, duno what to say, just want my head to stop.
I hope I'm posting this in the right place. My official diagnosis, the one I get the check for, is PTSD-MPD. Right now, it seems like the Universe wants me to just dissociate. It started with trying to get info to pay a traffic ticket. It is like pulling teeth, I still don't have all the info and time is ticking. If I don't figure it out very soon, my mate will go to jail for 30 days, lose his job and we can just kiss our house goodbye and move under an overpass and take our place on a pee stained mattress.
My other worry was, I say was, cause this is what happened there. We were supposed to take a road trip to visit some family. It was mentioned to another family member and guess who got there first! Now, we can't go cause you can't back to back people you rarely see. Esp a recent widower. I guess I should say Yay! cuz road trips throw me over the edge and require extra meds anyway. But why would she do that? Why is everything so darn hard?
I'm new. Struggiling again with depression after doing better for a couple years. Just hoping for a stronger support system. In the middle of a life change sooo... yea. Hello to all, hope y'all are well.
@nyxastra Welcome to the community! I hope you find the support you're looking for, here
I'm 25forme and I'm giving up on changing now. I just want to well...that. I try to avoid saying the word.
Hello everyone,
I've been struggling with chronic depression actively (meaning I'm in therapy instead of just pushing it into a corner somewhere far away) for the last year or so, and I'm still looking for good ways to deal with it all. I'm hoping to meet some new people here and perhaps help others around as well.
@Faberyeyo Welcome to the community! I hope you find 7cups helpful
Hello I am a newbie. I have suffered from severe OCD and concurrent depression. I have been off work since September but plan to go back next month. I have attempted suicide in the past and I have been in a mental institution. However, despite all of this and a divorce I am keeping going. It's very hard most of the time but through 7 Cups I see a light ahead. I really want to live my life free fom depression and anxiety. I know I cannot stop the thoughts but I can change how I respond to them. There is nopoint in battling with them. You have to accept they are there. They are not a reflection of you. So you must not label yourself by the thoughts. I want to learn how to be more resolute in dealing with my mind so that in essence we become friends.
It's just not getting better...
I have been desperately trying everything to alleviate this 3-year-long paralyzing depression. It is NOT working. Every time I make a little headway, my 'good thoughts' somehow fall apart and I am left even lower than before. I am too old (over 50) to imagine that there is promise or aspiration available to me. I do not have a family and cannot have one now. I AM NOT DOING WELL. I have tried and tried and tried. I just end up seeing my life as a hamster wheel and I am very very tired. I just want someone to talk to who I do not have to pay. I just want a friend. Nobody wants me because I am so sad. There is no way out of this.
@LakeLover. Hey. Just wanting to say I'm here. I know how I feel thinking I'm doing better and end up doing worse and it sucks. You may not physically be able to get pregnant but you can still make a family. You as a person, especially older, have a LOT to give. Many stories, many experiences, much love. If people are turning away from you due to depression then they're not going to get the benefit of knowing you. Take care of yourself and don't write all people off. There are people out there that can become friends that are closer than actual family. <3
@LakeLover
find a Listener! I am learning to manage my depression but it takes my effort all the time every day. It can be done!
@LakeLover
I really would recommend seeing a therapist to help with depression if you can afford it.
Not sure if you like animals. But having a dog helped me. I had to take her out for walks and feed her and bath her. Otherwise I was neglectful and couldnt stand that thought. I am not sure how depressed you are, mild to severe.
Also the excitement and acceptance from my dog being happy to see me everyday helped too. Training her also gave me a sense of purpose and accomplishment.
Err hi...
I'm new and I got coerced into this at first but once I looked around I saw that maybe it might help.
So I looked through things and found this was probably the perfect place for me.
I've lived with depression since I was 10, I'm 17 now so it's been a while.
I get constant ups and downs but this is my way of working on it.
I have Asperges Syndrome too so yeah I don't know what to say now so I'm going to shut up
