We want to get to know you!
Hello
ive had depression for awhile and I thought If I just ignore it and push through I'd be ok, but I'm not. It's gotten worse and I don't have anyone to talk to an it's always it's worst at night. I'm just sad all the time and I hate it. I don't even know what it's like to be genuinely happy anymore. Anyways, I just came here to find someone to talk to who won't baby me and make me feel normal
Hi. I am not sure if this is the place for me to be. My partner suffers from depression and it is getting worse. We are having a lot of fights and I don't know how to help him. I am really tired and frustrated, and I know I shouldn't take it personally, but it is getting really difficult as it feels like we can't communicate properly. I don't want to give up on him as he is my best friend but I am starting to feel very depressed too. I don't know how to help him or encourage him, and he doesn't want to see a therapist.
Hello! My name is Andrea and emotionally I'm a mess lately, trying to cope with the death of my mother as well. Hoping I can find peace and solice somehow.
@andreag1123
I'm so sorry for your loss dear. Grief is a long and very complicated process ,but you should Cherish every memory during these days. After all, we are blessed to have certain people in life. Also, remember she's not completely gone. Somehow somewhere you'll realise that you look like her, or talk like her, or act like her and that's the way to keep on giving the universe more of her everyday. Be proud and stand strong. She may be gone, but the love she gave you, how she educated you will remain with you forever. Hugs. 😘
@andreag1123 Hey there, I'm Savannah. I'm incredibly sorry to hear about your mom. Almost two years ago my dad was murdered during a home invasion, and I'm still struggling with finding the right coping skills to deal. If you ever need to chat, I'm new on here, but I would love to help. Next week I will be going to a tx facility for other women with depression, in CA. I'm terrified, but very gracious of the support from my family. Much <3
@andreag1123 really sorry about your mom andrea . hope you start feeling better soon
@andreag1123 Hello Andrea, genuinely sorry for your loss. This a tough time forsure. It is good to be feeling all the emotions that you do right now because it is extremely natural. You will notice that with time, you will start greiving less and begin to live in her wonderful memory. She will become a part of who you are and you will constantly have her by your side. As for now, take time, as it truly heals.
Hi. I will call myself Greg.
I'm struggling with a resurgence of depression after a med change. I'm a former sufferer of BDD (probably in remission) but feeling despondant about my life at the age of 42: no parents, no significant other, currently off sick from work, dependant on meds (so it seems), don't know what to do with myself on a day-to-day basis.
Scared about the future.
Oh well - hope to find some support in these groups and chatrooms.
@adventurousFan700 - Hoping for support, and just being open to the idea of support, through the thickness of depression, is an amazing step forward, worthy of celebrating on its own. We are here for you. The 7cups community is huge, but hopefully some resource here will give you an inspirating idea on how to move forward. <3
Hey megan here.
So, i've been depressed for a year now. I've been through a lot during these past years and now I don't know how to act normal. I feel like i've been so busy taking care of my problems that I forgot about my self. I'm just glad I found this place. I feel thankful.
@compassionateGlobe1770 - Hey Megan! depression can often feel like forgetting ourselves, we lose interest in everything we used to like, and we begin to even lose interest in ourselves - but coming here and looking for something is an amazing start, and shows hope. just trying anything is a great effort with depression, it's such a heavy thing! Hope you continue to learn more about yourself and find a way to grow beyond the depression. much luck to you.
@compassionateGlobe1770 Im so sorry you have been going through this hard time
HI,I'm Sheena and I have been living with depression for a few years now.Every day is a different day for me
for a while I thought I was handling it,but lately Ive been going down again and idk I feel alone alot and have no
one to talk to that really understands what Im going through.Sometimes I just feel like a burden to people and so
I keep things to myself alot.
@goldenHuman2373 - living with chronic depression can make it hard to self-analyze, because we're in the thick of all of that darkness ourselves, but simultaneously it can be hard to find people who are open to discussing it, because of social stigma that unfortunately exists in many places about depression; but coming here and telling your story, you are lifting that stigma just a tiny bit and I thank you. <3 I hope you are able to find many members and listeners here who relate to what you are going through.
@goldenHuman2373 dont worry sheena we are here for you.

Hi, I'm Heather, and I was diagnosed with a chronic illness in February. It bears a lot of burden, and while being a Type A planner, I no longer have any idea about my future. So...support would be great. Looking forward to getting to know some of you.
@heatherflowpow - Hi Heather! I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis, and I understand it has shook the foundations of your future plans, but in a way it is good that you have this information and can now have more control over those plans, vs this condition interfering without having much knowledge about it unexpectedly. Having said that, I hope it does not hold you back from accomplishing your dreams! 7cups is a good community with a lot of information, so I hope that you find some resources here. <3
Hello to all,
I have dealt mutliple times with depression. I think the worst episodes of it have passed, but I'm afraid they might return since the people who had saved me from my own mind before died tragically recently, triggering my depression again. I'm in the process of seeking professional help, and I guess this is a start.
@MemoriaLilium - Hello! This is a start and that's great. In a way, every moment we try to be patient and kind to ourselves, every moment we are aware of our own selves, is a new start. We can do this! Just wanting to avoid a depressive episode is an incredible start. You're really looking ahead and I can tell you are trying to deeply understand your past depression, and that is really amazing. Keep looking and good luck!
Idk I just feel super alone, and super down about my image. Everyone's smaller than me. I'm scared because I can feel myself drifting away from my faith, and that's one of the only things that helped me a while back.
@littleKite1533 - What you wrote rang very true for me. I'm sure many people feel what you are saying... We might feel alone, or even deserving to be alone, our depression looks for anything to validate why it deserves to continue to haunt us. Depression makes it hard to see ourselves as better than anything, which is why comparisons are so toxic to us while we're depressed. Just reaching out like this is amazing and I know it can take a lot of effort to keep searching for something, anything. You're not alone in your loneliness. Good luck on your search and know we are here for you at 7cups <3
