Hey Disability Community

Yay so a new month

Firstly how are you feeling this week?

Did last go well or is there anything you feel the need to vent in here today?

If you could or would learn a new skill or do a new hobby what would it be and why?

Does the above quote somewhat inspire to try new or learn new things?

I am learning ASL and I need to be more vigilant about practicing my skills. I think I shall post a note on the community bulletin board where I live, that I'm looking for someone to practice with.

Firstly how are you feeling this week?

I'm feeling really sad about my progression with Muscular Dystrophy. I just really feel ill, especially that my proximal muscles are wasting away. I hate it so much, but I'm remaining thankful that I finally know what's going on.

Did last go well or is there anything you feel the need to vent in here today?

I don't want my parents to feel guilty for passing on the defective genes. I mean, it's not really their fault- they didn't want this for their child. I want them to stop feeling so bad about me inheriting two faulty copies from them. I also don't want them to go to the 'denial' stage; they seem to be denying that I have Muscular Dystrophy, because this has been a tragic news for all of us.

If you could or would learn a new skill or do a new hobby what would it be and why?

I'm learning how to use different tools to help me out. I'm thinking of getting braces but my doctors haven't seen me for the second visit. It's in two months, and I just don't know how long I can wait. Otherwise, I'm making rosaries and I've recently found a job, so yay!

Does the above quote somewhat inspire to try new or learn new things?

Yes! This is why I don't want to stop myself from reaching my dreams, although I'm moderately disabled.

@involuntaristua

aww sorry to hear your not feeling so good and yes knowing whats going on is far better than not knowing but can still be hard and we are here for you

aww its natural for parents to feel that way your their child they probably feel stuck in what to do just shows they care deeply and true not their fault they have no control or had no control rather over the genes you got have you tried talking with them in how you feel about them feeling bad etc maybe by showing them its not their fault not in their control they couldnt have prevented it they may start feeling less denial worth a try if you feel you should do that

OMG grats on the job yayyyy what sort of job is it and i hope the tools you learn to use really help you too

glad to hear the quote inspired you too you go for it reach your dreams your goals dont ever let your disability stop you many disabled famous people never let it stop them if they can do it then you can too believe in you xd

The weather is nice yet I'm not really getting enough breakthroughs with my fatigue. I'm struggling with just keeping up with the things I have done in the past duing this time of year.

The only new thing I could imagine doing is trying a new medication if another diagnosis were to come up. I feel too exhausted to just imagine another hobby.
