Weekly Check In Apr 05 - Apr 11
Many disabled people do inspiration speeches and inspiration videos which is very great as they motivate us to live fully.
But sometimes it goes out of proportion and people judge disabled people that they are their inspiration just because they are disabled. Watch this video for more detail: https://www.ted.com/talks/stella_young_i_m_not_your_inspiration_thank_you_very_much
Balance is needed and we also need to know that people are different. Everyone among us is unique.
Check in questions:
1) Do you value your uniqueness?
2) How do you see self as person with disability?
3) How was your last week?
4) Is there anything you need to improve?

@gentleSun78 I'm doing ok, just busy. I do see myself as disabled and I would much rather I was not. Much of my uniqueness was lost in disability.
@gentleSun78 thank you for your post ....to answer the questions
1) Do you value your uniqueness? I do value my uniqueness. I believe we all add value to life and our experience with disabilities offers unique points of view.
2) How do you see self as person with disability? Yes I am a person with multiple disabilities… Physical and intellectual
3) How was your last week? This last week has been very peaceful… I try to spend as much time as I can and outdoors… That is a great thing with 7 Cups… I can go wherever you go.
4) Is there anything you need to improve? I am an intern and I need to improve on my check inns and making sure I am on task with my internship.
1) Do you value your uniqueness?
Absolutley!
2) How do you see self as person with disability?
It's complicated, but overall I would say I see my illnesses as a negative thing but that I am still an awesome person although prevented from doing some of the awesome things I would do if I were well. I think being in the situation I am in has meant I have worked at improving other things I have come across.
3) How was your last week?
Ok, the long weekend was nice
4) Is there anything you need to improve?
I hope to get my energy levels higher. I'm trying to get a group better organized, which is hard with low energy - perhaps better prioritizaiton of where I spend energy. I mentioned blurry vision which got a bit better but now my eyelid is swollen making it bad again so fingers cross that can clear up this week.
@AffyAvo I am glad that you value your uniqueness and that you make positive steps to adjusting your life to your disability. I hope that your vision can be treated well.
@gentleSun78 Thanks eye is doing better, although not cleared up, I'm having a flare of other health issues though.
1) Do you value your uniqueness? - Sometimes
2) How do you see self as person with disability? - I see myself as person with disability but I don't want to be disabled. This gives me more bad things than good things.
3) How was your last week? - I had bad last week. I'm still really tired from school and it's not ending soon. I have lost hope to some things.
4) Is there anything you need to improve? - I want to accept myself again. I'm not sure if I can do it but always can try
@Emiliako It must be very hard for you to live with your disability as it brings more bad than good to you. Having feeling of hopeless can be very tough. I am not sure on how intense and long are your feelings of hopeless. If they last for at least 2 weeks and are very intense and last most of the time in last 2 weeks, i would ask you if you ever considered to seeking medical support for it? Are there any support groups or even non profit organizations (associations, etc) for people with your disability? There might be people with whom you would be able to connect and share your experiences with them and they would be able to give you support and maybe some tips, accomodations, etc.
I'm part of one organization but there is not people my age and with same type of disability. If I go to this organization's camp, they only talk about disability with help equipment using that is not what I have
No one wants you here. Everyone pretends because they want to use you, no one will really care about you here or in your life. You will always wake up alone, no matter how you try to convince yourself, you still be a loser, everyone is losers, all will d ie in agony and fear. There are no good endings, the best option is to Di e right now, before more bad things happen. You have no hope and your dreams mean nothing, no one will ever support you and everyone is always deceived, there is no other way.
