Hi! I am okay. Trying to get to a place of acceptance and bravery about my disability. I was just diagnosed a little over a year ago with ADHD. My life makes sense now! However now I am in a hole I dug in the dark and trying to find my way out. It's hard! I am focused here at first on my health by getting my eating disorder some TLC and support, learning how to be a spoonie (should have started 25 years ago when I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease), and minimizing. Thanks for being here. 💕
Hi I'm proud of your for being brave and hopeful while your going through all this were here for you 💜
@lishalu0606, I think you are very brave for just admitting the fact that you have ADHD to all of us here. Kuddos to you as it isn't always easy to admit that, especially to a large group of people.
Having a diagnosis can make life make more sense as to why you may react the way you do or do the certain things you do. At the same time sometimes having a diagnosis doesn't change the fact that you have the disorder or condition and the simple fact is a diagnosis isn't going to magically take it away. We can just learn how to manage and treat our disorders/conditions. I can relate a little bit as I have ADHD myself and happen to be a spoonie as well. I specifically have POTS under dysautonomia. Getting a diagnosis was a relief but really didn't change the fact that I have POTS. It is up to each of us to learn how to manage/treat our conditions as I said and that decision is now in your court. You said you are dug into a hole. A hole has two directions, down or up, which way are you going to go?
Sorry I didn't see the prompt at first lol. I love my tenacity. My kids always are what make me smile, they are so funny. I'd love support with grieving my mistakes and being stuck with the consequences.
@lishalu0606, I'd encourage you to remember that a mistake is a mistake. Yes, consequences may result from it but 99% of the time a mistake occurred due to a failure that didn't mean to result in said consequence. It is okay to grieve those mistakes but just remember to go easy on yourself as well
