Do you have a good relationship with your body?

I definitely don't. It's mainly just a big reminder of my many failures in life.

What things do you do to connect with your body in a positive way?

Try eat healthy to gain some weight. Admittedly, it's more to stay outta hospital than for connecting with my body, but yeah.

How are you doing this week?

As horrible as usual. Broke off my engagement some time ago and it's feeding all the already existing negativity these days.

@OneErased Your not a Failure One. Putting on weight is the best way to get back into shape. Sorry to hear about your Engagement .🤔😢

@OneErased Eating healthy can be a great way to connect, even if it's just an after affect from eating for the nourishment.

Ending an engagement can be really upsetting, are you and your partner still together or has the relationship overall ended?

@AffyAvo I wouldn't say me and my body are best of friends, I'm actually very embedded of scars and missing limbs. I'm half paralysed, but I still can use my upper body. I do gentle stretches and exercises with my carers help every morning. So I can try and keep going

@Tinywhisper11 Gentle stretches and exercise can be an awesome way to connect with the body.

Do you have a good relationship with your body?

Definitely not. My body has started falling apart on me in the last few months and I’m an emotional eater. So not only is it difficult to exercise because I’m in chronic pain, but I’m eating an unbalanced diet along with it.

What things do you do to connect with your body in a positive way?

Not much right now. My depression has been not so good lately. I do a lot to dissociate from myself and how my body is feeling, usually through books or video games. I have been trying to be better about filling out my pain journal every day.

How are you doing this week?

Not great. I’m a veterinary nurse and had 1 patient die under anesthesia and a second had a very difficult anesthetic procedure. I’m on my feet all day and my feet and joints have really been flaring up in pain plus muscle spasms. Add to that I’ve been out of my ADHD meds for over a week (pharmacy finally got them in today). Not my best week.

I feel this one. Yeah, it's probably true of quite a few of us Cupsians... Am not an "emotional eater" myself but sticking to dietary rules is very difficult, for reasons that are otherwise similar to yours. If you take pills & prefer to not take them on an empty stomach, like myself, then it's easy to grab whatever junk is within reach or buyable. And yes, chronic conditions can be a b****. I know.

Having two gas stations/convenience stores & a Waffle House within walking distance of my apartment does not make it any easier.

Lately I've been trying not to drink the alky, too... Most days I am fairly successful. But not all.

@AffyAvo

Do you have a good relationship with your body?

I definitely struggle with how I view my body. I have only recently been working on connecting my body with my brain… I have EDS and POTS, and I struggle to do many things. I most recently tried to walk up a hill and almost blacked out. Made me feel pretty useless.

What things do you do to connect with your body in a positive way?

I’m still trying to figure out what to do. I have a yoga mat, but I haven’t tried to do yoga yet… I found some “EDS-friendly” yoga on YouTube, so I do want to try that out.

How are you doing this week?

Not too bad. I’ve been in an Intensive Outpatient Program for so long, and I haven’t really been doing much else. I’ll be going to Tennessee on Friday! I hope to do some hiking. I’ll be sure to bring my salt pills and water bottle! And my emergency info bracelet.

"Do you have a good relationship with your body?"

Definitely not.

I don't see the need to answer the other questions.

No I don't have a good relationship it keeps losing mobility and is a frustrating body because I can't do what I want to do. Me and my body argue over what I do.

The only thing I do to help my body is take my meds, rest and to avoid going out when I'm told to. I started to refuse treatment like NG tubes and surgery even tho my body dosn't like that as it's getting too much for me. I don't look after my body well.

The week was hard I got told my jaw may brake if I get my rotten tooth taken out. I felt very angry and sad because I will not go under anaesthesia.
