Help with IBD/Crohn's please!
Hi, I'm hoping this is the right place to post this.
I'm currently being tested for Crohn's disease.
I've suffeted wit IBS for as long as I can remember but since January my pain has got so unbelievably intolerable. I'm currently suffering with severe right iliac fossa pain and inflammation of the large intestines... Woohoo!! 😭 ( that's sarcasm)
I was wondering if anyone had any home remedies that the could recommend as i've found that most medication I'm in contains lactose ( which is a big trigger especially since I'm lactose intolerant!)
i've tried hot water bottles but I now have erythema ab igne due to excessive use. I've tried ginger and herbal teas but they only seem to make me feel constipated and in more pain than I was prior to use.
I feel like I'm running out of options and my doctor has said he can't do much until all my results are in and the general surgeon has been spoken to :(
@SakuraBelle I suffer with IBS myself. One of the key factors that I've learned is, making sure not to eat triggering foods. One of my major IBS triggers is red meat. It's very constipating, so I try not to eat it very often. Another trigger for me is white rice, I've noticed that I tend to have more digestive issues, especially if I have ate a lot of it. Drinking lots of water and making sure your body is hydrated, helps me considerably.
I'm not exactly sure what you suffer most with but I'd be more than happy to speak to you about it. Maybe we can share ideas or suggestions on what helps or what doesn't.
I hope this helps a little, I know how terrible of a condition it is. I hope you feel better soon
